Can-Am's Chase Snapp Places Top Five Overall at Red Bud MX
AMA ATV MX Nationals - Round 10 - Buchanan, MI - July 30, 2011

Despite having a little bad luck, Can-Am's Pro Rookie Chase Snapp placed fifth overall at Red Bud MX
Tulsa, OK (8/2//2011) - Can-Am’s Chase Snapp finished in the top five overall at round number ten of the 2011 AMA ATV Motocross Championships and is closing in on a top five finish in the pro points championship.

The weather at Red Bud was hot, and the track became quite rough as the day wore on, but Oklahoma native, Chase Snapp had no problems with the heat and charged his way to a top five finish.

In the first moto, Snapp was in the top five off the start, but got hung up behind a crash, causing him to fall back. Snapp put the hammer down and worked back into sixth by the end of the first lap. Snapp kept going strong and soon found himself in the number four position and held that spot for nine laps, taking it all the way to the checkered flag. “I got hung up behind a couple of guys that crashed and that put me back a few spots but I just kept going and started picking people off one at a time,” Snapp explained.

In the second moto, Snapp got off to a mid-pack start and was having issues early in the moto when a rock got stuck in his shifter, forcing him to pull off the track to fix the issue. “I was stuck in second gear and I couldn’t shift up or down, so I pulled off to fix it,” said Snapp, who fell back several places.

After a quick fix, Snapp was back in action and was able to move into ninth place before crossing the finish line. Snapp’s 4-9 finishes gave him fifth overall for the day and has him getting closer to a top five finish in points. “I’m hoping everything goes well at Loretta’s for the final round and I am expecting to finish in the top five for the year,” said Snapp.

The final round of the 2011 AMA ATV Motocross Championships will head to Loretta Lynne’s in Hurricane Mills, TN where Snapp wrapped up the 2010 Pro-am Production championship last year, and is hoping for a podium finish to end his season on a high note for 2011.
