Tulsa, OK (8/17/2011) – Can-Am’s
Chase Snapp wrapped up his 2011 season with seventh
overall at Loretta Lynn’s, putting him in
a respectable sixth in series points and giving
him a very positive outlook for the 2012 season.
Snapp was looking to end his season on the podium
after a top five finish at round ten, and Snapp
looked as if he would make it happen as he charged
off the start in the first moto. “I was
in third off the start and made the pass for second
early in the first lap. Hetrick had a bit of a
gap on me, but I caught up to him pretty quickly,”
said Snapp.

Snapp was
third off the line in moto 1 but unfortunately,
his chain came off & had to pull off
the track to fix the problem

Once Snapp caught Hetrick, the battle was on.
Snapp made his move and took over the lead, but
Hetrick stayed close. Snapp led for several laps
before Hetrick would make a move and take back
the lead, but Snapp wasn’t about to let
him walk away and took back his lead right away.
Snapp was looking good and holding off Hetrick,
but then disaster struck. “My chain came
off and I had to pull off the track to put it
back on,” explained Snapp, who would be
able to continue, but was only able to work back
up to tenth before reaching the finish line.
“I was pretty upset about it because I
felt really good out there and I felt like I could
have won that moto,” said Snapp.
In the second moto, Snapp was in third off the
start and just missed a collision with John Natalie.
“We came into this turn after a roller and
I don’t know if Natalie bumped Hetrick or
if he hit a rut or what, but all of a sudden his
quad was flipping right in front of me. I thought
I was going to get hit, but I got lucky and went
right under his quad and kept going,” said
Snapp, who would eventually finish moto two in
fifth place, giving him seventh overall for the
day. Snapp’s hard work all season long put
him in sixth place in series points.
“I’m happy with how my season went,
especially with it being my first year as a pro.
I am a little disappointed that Hetrick edged
me out for a top five in points, but it also gives
me more motivation to work hard and do even better
next season. I’ve had a lot of support this
year and I have to thank Can-Am and Johnny at
Motoworks. They have been great to work with and
I really appreciate everything they, and all of
my sponsors, have done for me this year,”
said Snapp.
