USRA Announces 2nd
Annual "Race the Land II" Charity ATV Race
Price, UT (8/3/2007) -
The Utah Sportsmen's Riders Association (USRA) is proud
to announce the second annual "2007 Race the Land II"
non-point off-road benefit race to be held August 18,
2007, at the Price Motocross Track in Price, Utah. All
money raised from this event is donated to the USRA
Land Use Fund. The Land Use Fund helps out with growing
issues here in Utah and from time to time, has been
known to donate to BlueRibbon Coalition and USA-ALL.
This year's Race the Land event will include a 6-Hour
Team Race featuring teams of up to four riders. Riders
will compete on a 15 mile course plus track and features
a 100% Pro-Payback per USRA Rule. USRA will continue
the popular Iron-man Class, where one rider will ride
for the full six hours. And don't forget the ATV classes;
we wouldn't want to leave anyone out! By popular demand
your race chairman has added a Pro Iron-man Class and
Pro ATV Iron-man.
Preston Roberts, one of the Race Chairmen, said "We
want our Race the Land event to be something different
for the racing community. This is a chance to get involved
in a sanctioned race, where fun is the top priority.
But if the competitive gene is in your blood, I guarantee
you won't be disappointed."
Roberts said this year's event will be family oriented,
including a 2 hour Mini Endurance Race on a 5-mile course
plus track and a 30-minute Peewee Race.
"Although the Race the Land events are an official
USRA sanctioned event, the spark arrestor and other
requirements are waived so the entire family can participate."
Ken Kirkwood, the other Race Chairmen, said that Carbon
County is pulling out all of the stops to welcome racers
from all over Utah. The Price Motocross Track is home
to several National WORCS races, and this year's "Race
the Land II" event will include many of the same courses
used for the WORCS races. Camping with water and RV
dump is available (no hook-ups).
This year's Race the Land II sponsors are: Rocky Mountain
ATV-MC, Moto-X-Outlet, LMR-Lindsay Machine Racing, South
Valley Motorsports, Motofotos.net, Scott and IMS, Delta
Sports Center and MotoUtah.com.
Entry fees and start times are available on the USRA's
website www.raceusra.com. Gate fees are $5.00 per adult and $3.00 per child 6
