BCS / Can-Am's Ronnie Higgerson placed 13th overall in the AMA Pro ATV MX Class at Aonia Pass

West Springfield, MA (3/29/2013) –The weekend was starting out great for AMA Pro Racer Ronnie Higgerson. “Training all winter could not have gone better, I was feeling stronger than ever and ready to make a statement in the Pro class”, Higgerson stated.  As Saturday rolled around the skies opened up and began to let the rain pour. In the first qualifier the rain had taken its toll on the track already but Higgerson managed to pull out a 12th place qualifier to secure his spot on the line for moto 1.

The rain had let up moments before the 1st Pro moto of the day but the track was swamped. Higgerson and his crew spent the time before the moto prepping the quad for the mud race and did all they could. “We put XC tires on the quad to raise it up and try to get around better in the mud, something we have never done before and it didn’t quite work as well as we hoped but we learned from it”. The first moto proved to be a tough one as Higgerson quickly had to throw away his goggles, then ended up getting stuck in a turn and ended up 20th.

The second moto the track was considerably better but still very wet. Higgerson came off the line towards the back of the pack, but put his head down and charged through the pack passing his way up to 9th gaining on the pack but ran out of time in the moto. “This wasn’t how I saw the weekend going but we made it out safe and no DNF’s and that’s what matters considering the conditions”.

Higgerson ended up 13th overall for the weekend out of 23 that lined up for qualifying that morning. “This weekend I didn’t get to show my true potential and how much hard work I have put in this winter, and I couldn’t do it without out the help from my family and sponsors…everyone will see at round 2!”
