BCS's Cody Miller placed third overall in the Pro Class at Hurricane Hills

West Springfield, MA (9/9/2011) – BCS Performance’s Cody Miller braved the elements at round number ten of the 2011 New England ATV Motocross Series to finish on the podium in both the Pro and Pro-am classes.

Hurricane Hills was the hosting facility for this weekend’s races and it certainly lived up to its name as torrential rain and thunder and lightning caused the red flag to fly just before the Pro class was ready to head to the line, delaying Sunday’s races for over an hour until the storm passed. “It was pretty crazy. The rain was coming down in buckets and there was lighting all over. It was actually little scary for the class that was on the track when it all started,” said Cody Miller.

The severe thunder storm that moved through the area caused very wet and muddy conditions for the first Pro moto, but that didn’t stop BCS Performance’s Cody Miller from grabbing the moto one holeshot. Miller held his lead for over six laps before falling back to second. Miller held off an attack from Dustin Wimmer and finished in second at the checkered flag. “I got a great start and I led for quite a while, but it was difficult to hold your line because it was so muddy, so I ended up finishing in second,” explained Miller.

Things had dried out a bit for the second Pro moto, but there were still patches of mud and water remaining. Miller got a good start once again as he came off the line in second place. Miller was challenging Dustin Wimmer for the lead, but Miller made a mistake and went off the track, dropping him back to third. Miller tried to remount a charge but was unable to gain any ground and crossed the finish line in third, giving him third overall on the Pro podium.

In the Pro-am class, Miller charged off the start in second place behind Dustin Wimmer and held his position all the way to the checkered flag for a solid second place finish. In the second Pro-am moto, it was a repeat for Miller as he was again in second off the start and stayed there until the end. Miller’s 2-2 finishes allowed him to take the number two spot on the Pro-am podium.

“It was a good race and the track conditions had improved a bit so it was a lot better racing than in the first Pro moto. I was able to get good starts and hold my position to finish on the podium in second, so I am happy with that,” said Miller.

With only two rounds left in the 2011 season, Miller is sitting in a comfortable third in points in both the Pro and Pro-am classes without any challengers for his position.

Round number eleven of the 2011 New England ATV Motocross Series will head to MX 101 in Epping, NH on September 18th where BCS Performance’s Cody Miller will be going for the podium.
