West Springfield, MA (7/27/2011)
– BCS Performance’s Cody Miller took
his BCS Performance Can-Am DS450 to the Pro podium
once again at round number seven of the 2011 New
England ATV Motocross Series and backed it up with
a podium finish in the Pro-am class as well.
The sandy soils of MX338 in Southwick, MA have
always been a challenge for racers and this round
was no exception. What started out as a wide track
with several lines, soon turned into a single
lined course where passing was difficult with
the soft, loose dirt lining the sides of the track,
but Cody Miller was not deterred by the conditions.
In the first Pro moto, Cody Miller got off to
a mid-pack start but quickly made several passes
and worked his way up to fourth place. Miller
tried to make the pass for third, but the rough
track made it difficult and was unsuccessful in
his efforts, leaving him with a fourth place finish
in the first moto.

The second Pro moto went better for Miller as
he shot off the line in third. Miller stayed close
to the leaders, but was not able to make a move,
giving him a third place finish. Miller’s
4-3 finishes did earn him a podium position for
the day in third. Miller has been very consistent
all season long and is currently third in the
Pro points chase. “The track was pretty
rough out there and it got pretty narrow later
in the day, so passing was tough, but overall
it was a good day and I made it to the podium,”
said Miller.
The Pro-am class also went well for Miller as
he grabbed the moto one holeshot and led for the
first lap until falling back into third after
getting caught up in the loose soil in a turn.
Miller held down the number three spot for the
rest of the moto, taking third at the checkered
flag. “I got a great start, but I went a
little too wide in a corner and got slowed down
by all the loose stuff off to the side, but I
got back out there and held off the rest of the
pack,” Miller explained.
In the second Pro-am moto, Miller was in mid
pack off the start, but began picking off the
competition and made his way into the number three
spot. Miller began to close in on the leaders
but ran out of time before he was close enough
to make a move, giving him third in moto two and
third overall on the Pro-am podium.
Round number eight of the 2011 New England ATV
Motocross Series will head to MX207 in Lyman,
ME on August 7th where Cody Miller will be charging
hard to put BCS Performance on the podium.
