West Springfield, MA (6/1/2011)
– BCS Performance’s Cody Miller took
the number three spot on the Pro and Pro-am podium
at round number three of the New England ATV Motocross
Series, keeping him in a solid third in series points,
despite a nasty wreck during Saturday’s practice
that almost took him out of commission for the weekend.
Hurricane Hills in Clifford, PA was the hosting
track for the third round of the 2011 season.
The track was technical with steep faces on the
jumps and good sized lips that gave racers plenty
of flight time, much to the delight of the crowd.
Unfortunately, big jumps also lead to big crashes
as Cody Miller found out during Saturday’s
practice. Miller hit hard and suffered a concussion
that he was still feeling the after effects of
going into Sunday morning’s motos. But that
didn’t stop Miller from charging his way
to the podium.

In the first pro moto, Miller was fourth off
the start and held that position from beginning
to end. Moto two was a little tougher as Miller
was in sixth off the start, but the number 22
Can-Am mounted racer charged his way into the
number three spot before crossing the finish line.
“I was still feeling a little dizzy in the
first moto, but I was feeling better as the day
went on. I still went out there and gave it my
all and I am happy to be on the podium,”
said Miller, whose 4-3 finishes gave him third
overall in the Pro class.
In the Pro-am ranks, Miller was second off the
line in moto one, but fell back after Dustin Wimmer
came calling. Miller kept the rest of the pack
at bay and took a third place finish in moto one.
In moto two, Miller had his work cut out for him
as he got bumped in the first corner off the start
and was back in last place. Miller put the hammer
down and charged his way through traffic to take
a fourth place finish. “I started closing
in on Dunk, but I didn’t have enough time
to make a pass before reaching the checkers,”
said Miller, who would find his way to the podium
in third overall.

Miller currently
sits third in the NEATV - MX Pro Points

Miller’s consistency has him currently
sitting in third place in points in both the Pro
and Pro-am classes so far this season and Miller
has plans of making his way to the top of the
podium. “I had a little bit of bad luck
this round but I am going to be trying my best
to put BCS Performance and Can-Am on top of the
podium at the next round,” said Miller.
Round number four of the 2011 New England ATV
motocross series will be heading back to Capeway
Rovers in Carver, MA on June 12th, where Cody
Miller will be going for his first win of the
season.
