West Springfield, MA (10/4/2011)
- A technical track and a great setup proved to
be the key ingredients that put BCS Performance’s
Cody Miller on the podium at the 2011 Montreal Supermotocross.
The Montreal Supermotocross is always a huge
event and this year was no exception with around
45,000 spectators in attendance. Cold and wet
weather did affect fan/racer interactions for
some, but BCS Performance’s Cody Miller
went out of his way to meet and greet fans and
promote BCS performance and Can-Am. “It
was set up so we had to pit outside, but we were
able to set up in a good spot where there were
a lot of people walking by. We also went inside
and passed out posters and met a lot of fans that
way, so it all turned out pretty good,”
said Miller, who won the 2007 Montreal Supermotocross
Championship.

The course was technical with several big jumps
and tight corners, which is exactly Cody Miller’s
kind of track. An intimidating triple-triple section
slowed many racers, but Miller was the first to
attempt the section, and was one of only a few
racers who would consistently take the jumps,
giving him an advantage over much of the competition.
Miller was looking strong and fast after taking
his heat race win and after a few last minute
changes to dial in his suspension, Miller was
feeling confident as he lined up for the main
event.

The massive audience was on their feet as the
Pro ATV class left the line, and gasped as a huge
pile up in the first turn caused several of the
top racers, including Cody Miller, to be tangled
up. Miller was able to break free and began charging
his way to the front. Miller worked past most
of the pack and was chasing down John Natalie,
who was holding down second. “Everyone went
down in the first turn. I got back up and had
to adjust my levers, but I was right behind John
Natalie and we battled for most of the time,”
said Miller.
After several laps of battling with Natalie,
Miller came into the triples section and was able
to take the section while Natalie was slowed by
another rider. Miller was able to get by Natalie
and take over second place in the sixth lap. Miller
was able to hold off Natalie for the rest of the
race, but could not get close enough to the leader
to try for a pass before reaching the checkered
flag, giving him second place on the pro podium.
“I was right behind John Natalie and we
came into the triples section in lap six and I
just went for it and I was able to get around
him and hold him off for the last few laps and
finish in second. I tried to chase down (Richard)
Pelchat, but he was too far ahead. I’m really
happy to be on the podium. I always like this
event and I always like these technical types
of tracks and I think that’s what helps
me to do well here. I had a great time out there
and my quad was working awesome thanks to BCS
Performance and the guys at Elka and it was great
to have all Can-Am riders on the podium,”
said Miller.
After a great run at Montreal, Miller is going
to be training hard for the final round of the
New England ATV Motocross Series that will be
held on October 9th, at Hemonds MX in Minot, ME,
where Cody Miller will be trying to put BCS Performance
on the podium.
