BCS Performance Racers Survive NEATV-MX Round 1 Mud Fest NEATV-MX - Round 1 - Walden MX - Wallkill, NY - April 25 2010

West Springfield, MA (4/29/2010) – The BCS Performance Can-Am team made its debut at the first round of the 2010 New England ATV Motocross series and weathered the storm to take three top ten finishes.

Walden MX in Wallkill, NY was the hosting facility for the season opener of the NEATVMX series where beautiful weather was on hand for Saturday’s practice and youth classes, but conditions would deteriorate overnight, and the tacky consistency of the dirt would turn into a muddy mess, with standing water over many sections of the track. Due to the inclement conditions, race officials decided to cut Sunday’s races to a one moto format.

As racers tried their best to get traction off the start in the Open Pro class, Cody Miller was in sixth off the line and would make his way past Jasmine Plant and Vincent Mofford to take over fourth place. Passing opportunities were scarce after that due to poor visibility, so Miller would hang onto his number four spot all the way to the checkered flag.

Miller would get off to a better start in the Pro-am class, taking second in that holeshot, but again poor visibility and a lack of traction came into play as Miller tried to make a turn, but ended up slipping off the track into a flagging tower. Miller would fall to dead last, but put on an impressive charge to come back for a sixth place Pro-am finish. “It was a mess out there, but BCS did a great job of prepping our quads and my Can-Am DS450 held up to the challenge,” said Miller.

Myles Santaniello ran consistently as he came off the line in fifth place in the Open Pro class. Santaniello held his position despite pressure from teammate Ralle Rookey and finish in fifth place. In the Pro-am class, Santaniello was again in fifth off the line and would hold his spot until reaching the checkered flag.

Ralle Rookey put out a solid effort in the Open Pro class to take a sixth place finish behind Santaniello, but in the Pro-am moto, Rookey was able to hook up off the start and was in second place. Rookey held his position for several laps despite

intense pressure from Joe Haavisto, but Rookey would fall back when he and Haavisto would connect and Rookey would go off the track. The young racer was ok after his ordeal and managed to get back into the number four spot before reaching the finish line.

“I am really happy with how everything went this weekend despite the horrible weather. The team did a good job and our Can-Am DS450’s were running great,” said BCS Performance’s Jason Brazee. “We are really looking forward to the next round at Jolly Roger. The weather is supposed to be good, so the team will have every advantage and be able to go out there and ride at their top potential,” Brazee concluded.

Round two of the New England ATV Motocross Series will take place on May 1st – 2nd at Jolly Roger MX in Lempster, NH, which is a favorite location among many racers, and should offer plenty of excitement as the BCS Performance racers dive head on into the 2010 championship battle.
