Oakland, KY (4/6/2012) - The Ballance
Racing/Yamaha team had a stellar weekend at Round
3 of the Can-Am GNCC held in Morganton, NC March
                              31st. A massive spectator turn-out witnessed one
of the most thrilling XC1 pro finishes which was
an all out dual between Team rider Taylor Kiser
and 3-time champ and rival Chris Borich. 5 laps
on the 9.2 mile course gave the crowd over 2 hours
of intense wheel to wheel racing action.

win of the 2012 GNCC ATV Racing Season
at Steele Creek | #5 Ballance Racing/Yamaha’s Walker Fowler
took his YFZ450X to the front of the pack early
on, grabbing his second holeshot award of the
year. The XC1 Pro rookie seemed comfortable out
front. “This Yamaha started out like wild
fire again and I just felt like I needed to be
out front and out of radiator packing mud unlike
Georgia. I wanted to keep the machine 100% as
long as possible.” Fowler lead up until
it was time for the team to pit, which allowed
Chris Bithell to take over the lead. “Everyone
stopped but Bithell, which moved me back to 2nd.
Then I missed a fast line and my teammate Taylor
got around me. I just tried to ride smart but
I’m still making rookie errors. On the last
lap I was in 3rd, putting myself into good position
for the last few miles when Borich grazed an out
hanging limb. Somehow it swung back and put a
hole threw my bumper, stopping me dead and I had
a good crash. I worked back into 4th, but my beginners
luck seems to be against me. I’ll settle
in soon, I miss being on the podium.” Walker
is currently tied for 3rd place is XC1 points
with Adam McGill. #3 Ballance Racing/Yamaha’s Taylor Kiser
stole the show at this weekends Steele Creek GNCC.
Taylor’s separated shoulder has healed up
quick, and he made sure his results prove it.
Kiser got off to a solid start. “I was around
5th entering the woods and just played it cool.
Once in 4th, I set my sights on catching the front
group of Fowler, Wolf, and Bithell.” It
only took one lap before Taylor was right in the
mix with the front runners. “I just took
good lines and picked them off one at a time and
took over the lead when Bithell fueled. From there,
I picked up the pace cause Borich had moved into
2nd.” In the remaining miles, Kiser and Borich swapped
positions a few times, showing that rubbing is
racing! The finish line section was the most exciting
yet. “ Chris pulled me threw the last mudhole
and entered the corner late. I set myself up early
and exited the corner early and our lines met.
Neither of us were going to let off the throttle
and I got into his rear tire accidentally throwing
him off balance. I knew I was going to get the
same in return so I braced for a hit in the final
turn and managed to hold him off and take the
win. Racing is racing, I’m just glad to
get this monkey off my back and build on my first
victory of 2012!” Taylor currently sits
2nd in XC1 Pro points. The Ballance Racing/Yamaha Team now prepares
for The Big Buck round 4 of the GNCC series, April
