Ballance Racing Yamaha's XC2 rider Walker Fowler continues his winning streak with winning every round thus far aboard his Yamaha YFZ450X ATV

Oakland, KY (10/19/2011) - The Ballance Racing/Yamaha was back to action this past weekend at the Powerline Park GNCC in St. Clairsville, OH round 11 of the series. Heavy rains in the area the week before the event would make the ground soft with numerous mud and water crossings, adding to the difficulty of the track. Powerline Park is know for its fast jeep trails, slick clay, open fields, and 2 fan-favorite mud crossings that can make or break a rider’s day. The Ballance crew walked the track Friday to find good lines through or around these tough spots and some ‘last lap’ passing lines if needed. The riders were prepared to do battle!

In the premiere XC1 Pro division, Ballance Racing/Yamaha’s #2 Taylor Kiser was still looking for the ride that proved he had done his homework over the summer and was ready to take an overall win. He hasn’t taken a break from the summer’s preparation, though. “Heading up to this race I was feeling confident. My teammate Walker had come down to do some testing a few days before the race and we got to do some good riding. The day before the race we went walking and found some solid lines! I couldn't wait for race day!” Taylor’s day got off to a solid start until arm-pump took its toll. “As the flag waived I got a mid pack start and quickly began moving to the front. My charge was quickly stalled by a severe case of arm pump. I battled with it for much of the race ending up a very disappointing 4th.” While 4th is still very respectable, Kiser has extremely high expectations for himself which is what is going to push him for his first win this season. “The bike worked awesome, I just have to get my game back together! I am really looking forward to proving it before the season is out!

In the XC2 Pro-Am division, Ballance Racing/Yamaha’s #7 Walker Fowler was ready to keep is perfect season alive. He was 10 for 10 in the class headed into this race. “My main focus was to get my 11th straight win in the class, but I really wanted another overall in front of the home-state crowd.” Walker started his day off on the right foot, entering the woods in the lead. “I made a few good moves on the start and was able to get the lead before the track tightened up. I just wanted to get out front and ride my own race so if I made a mistake, I could only blame myself.” Fowler just kept it steady and came across the finish in 1st, keeping the undefeated streak alive. “ I tried pushing hard the 1st lap to see if I could get into the overall, but pushing myself as hard as I could and making little errors still only put me in 6th overall the 1st lap. I then decided that the class win was the important thing and just started cruising. I’m still very pumped to keep the streak alive, one race at a time! Only 2 to go, no pressure! Haha”

Ballance Racing would also like to congratulate Corey Silverthorn for his top 5 finish in the 90 Open 12-15 class aboard the Ballance Racing Yamaha Raptor125. Corey came through on the first lap in 8th and worked his way up to his 5th place finish out of 16 solid youth riders in the class. Nice Job Corey!

The Ballance Racing/Yamaha team will next be headed to the Ironman GNCC, home of the famous “Ironman Hill” in Crawfordsville, IN round 12 of the GNCC Series Saturday October 22nd. Remember to WEAR PINK in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! We hope to see you there.
