Josh Upperman finished fifth at Sunset
Ridge in Walnut, IL |
North Kingsville, OH (5/25/2012)
- The highly competition 201 AMA
ATV Motocross Championships have been good for
Baldwin Motorsports’ Josh Upperman as he
has carried over his incredible consistency and
has not finished outside of the top five yet this
season.
At round two’s Muddy Creek, Josh Upperman
grabbed the holeshot and led for a time in both
motos before taking home a couple of fourth
place moto finishes for fourth overall. ”It
felt great to be out front. I had great starts
and it was a really good race,” said Upperman.
The series headed to Budds Creek for round
four and Josh Upperman was looking good as he
got off to a good start in the first moto and
held off the competition for a third place finish.
Upperman again looked strong I moto two, but
a bobble in lap four set him back. Upperman
stayed the course and was able to take a fifth
place finish in the second moto for fifth overall.
“I had a little bit of a setback in the
second moto, but I’m going to go home
and train and try to come back and do even better
next time,” Upperman stated.

Baldwin Motorsports' Josh Upperman sits
fourth the AMA ATV MX Pro Points after
Round 4 at Sunset Ridge |
The fourth round of the series had Upperman
heading to Sunset Ridge where a shortened track
created rough track conditions and unseasonably
hot weather also became an issue. Despite the
challenges the track presented, and an intense
battle that raged in the top five, Upperman
still stayed focused and finished well with
a fourth place in moto one and fifth in moto
two for fifth overall. “It was a tough
race, but my Baldwin engine and PEP shocks worked
great out there. I was happy to be able to finish
well and I can’t thank everyone at Baldwin
and PEP for everything they do and helping me
have a good season,” said Upperman.
The next round will mark the midway point of
the season and has Josh Upperman sitting in
fourth place in series points, but he is only
three points shy of breaking into the top three
and he could very well accomplish that at the
next round.
Round number five of the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross
Championships will head to Ballance Moto X in
Oakland, KY on June 2nd, where Josh Upperman
will be trying to increase his points and go
for the podium.
