Josh Upperman placed third at the AMA
Pro ATV Motocross opening round at Aonia

                                North Kingsville, OH (3/30/2012)
                                - Baldwin Motorsports’ Josh
Upperman grabbed both moto holeshots and charged
his way to the pro podium at the season opener
of the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross Championships at
Aonia Pass MX Park in Washington, Georgia.

The first round of the season is usually a
good indicator of who will be a regular on the
podium and it was apparent that Josh Upperman
has been training hard and plans to be a top
contender each and every round. “I have
been working with Tim Farr and I have been able
to dedicate more time to training this season
than I ever have before, so I feel ready,”
                                  said Upperman.

Upperman pulled both Pro ATV Holeshots
                                        aboard his Baldwin Motorsports powered

The good weather and good track conditions
helped the number 20 of Josh Upperman hook up
and fly off the gate to grab the first pro holeshot
of the season. Upperman, who is known for his
excellent starting abilities, held the lead
and held off the competition, despite intense
pressure, for three laps before falling back.
Upperman kept the hammer down and put a nice
gap between him and the rest of the pack enabling
him to maintain a third place position for several
laps before taking it to the checkered flag.
“I felt great out there. I got a good
start and just tried to run a solid race,”
                                  said Upperman.

Josh Upperman 3-3 finishes earned him
a solid third place overall in the Pro
                                        Class |

In the second moto of the day, Upperman again
shot off the line and took the holeshot. Upperman
was not able to hold his lead, but stayed fast
and consistent in the number three spot. Upperman
stayed close to the leaders as they pulled away
from the rest of the pack and rode unchallenged
for the entire moto in third. Upperman’s
solid 3-3 finishes for round number one allowed
him to claim third overall on the pro podium.
“My goal is to stay consistent and be
on the podium every round. I think that’s
very achievable. Mark Baldwin builds an excellent
quad and Wayne Meridian has put a lot of time
into the development of our suspension and I
can’t thank both of them enough for everything
they do to help me be successful and put them
                                  on the podium,” said Upperman.
Round number two of the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross
Championships will head to Muddy Creek Raceway
in Blountville, Tennessee on April 21st –
22nd where Baldwin Motorsports’ Josh Upperman
will be trying for his first win of the season.
