#20 Josh Upperman took home 4th place
overall at Loretta Lynn's after snagging
2nd place out of the holeshot & doing
battle with not only the other racers
but the rough track conditions as well |
North Kingsville, OH (8/4/2010)
- After a successful 2010 race
year, Baldwin Motorsports’ Josh Upperman
would finish out his season in the top five of
the 2010 AMA ATV Motocross Championships pro points
battle after a top five finish in the final moto
of the season.
Sweltering heat, humidity, and thunder storms
came into play for the final round of the 2010
race season, creating difficult and rough conditions
for racers. After heavy rains fell at Loretta
Lynn’s on Saturday night, and again on
Sunday morning, that delayed classes, it was
decided that the Pro class would run a one moto
format, with the winner taking all.
Track conditions had dried out quite a bit
by the time the Pro’s took to the line,
giving Josh Upperman the traction he needed
to take second place in the Pro holeshot. Upperman
had his hands full as he battled with Thomas
Brown and Jeremy Lawson. Upperman would fall
back, but he put the hammer down and made his
way into the number four spot before crossing
the finish line. Upperman’s consistency
this season also allowed him to claim fourth
in the Pro points championship.
“We have all worked really hard this
year and Josh has done an excellent job and
gave it everything he had all season long, so
we are pretty happy with how everything has
gone. I have to thank everyone who has had a
hand in helping us out this year and we are
already looking forward to next season,”
stated Mark Baldwin.
Now that the season has ended, Mark Baldwin
and Josh Upperman will be heading to France
where Upperman will compete in the annual 12
Hours of Pont de Vaux with Shane Hitt and Bryan
Cooke. “We are really excited for Pont
de Vaux. I think we will do well and it should
be a lot of fun,” stated Baldwin.
With the 2010 season at an end for the Baldwin
Motorsports team, Mark Baldwin and Josh Upperman
will be working hard to get ready for the 2011
season upon their return from France and a hopeful
victory at the 12 Hours of Pont de Vaux.
