#20 Josh Upperman - Baldwin Motorsports
Honda TRX 450R |
North Kingsville, OH (1/30/2009)
- Josh Upperman, #20 has signed
another year with American Honda/Baldwin Motorsports
and will continue to ride red for the 2009 season.
“With all the great starts (Hole Shot King)
and finishes I had in 2008 I’m really looking
forward to an impressive year”, says Josh.
Look for the #20 to be a powerful competitor on
his TRX450R built by Mark Baldwin in the AMA ATV
Pro ITP/Moose ATV National Motocross Series Presented
by Parts Unlimited. The eleven-race schedule will
begin in San Bernardino, CA on March 8th and end
on August 16th at the well-known Loretta Lynn
Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN (see full schedule
below).
Only the second year, in this vigorous, demanding,
and highly skilled Pro ATV class Josh Upperman,
one of the “Young Guns” captured
9th place overall and 6th place overall in the
ITP Grand Slam Series (series within a series)
which is Presented by Quad Magazine. Mark Baldwin,
Josh’s engine builder, tuner and race
team manager stated; “Josh and I are pretty
comfortable and working together a lot to develop
the right combination for a championship”.
Josh is healthy, strong, and riding a great
deal in Florida at several tracks before heading
to California. Mark and Josh along with other
team sponsors are working on some different
set-ups and research and developing.
Josh Upperman is 23 year old, from Louisville,
OH, the youngest of three children, has been
racing since he was 15 years old, which started
on a Honda 400EX. He started racing in the local
CRA series, in Ohio and Pennsylvania and after
much improvement moved to a national level in
2004, where he gained much recognition as an
aggressive competitor. Josh received the 2005
National Pro-Am Unlimited Class Champion and
took home the third in the Pro-Am Production
Class.
2006 was a pivotal year for Josh Upperman,
with the Honda TRX450R, built by Mark Baldwin,
underneath him. Josh not only took the championship
in the AMA ATVA MX Pro-Am Production class,
but also captured the title for the AMA ATVA
MX Pro-Am Unlimited class, too, which he wrapped
up with three races to go in the series. This
gave him a chance to get his feet wet in the
Pro Class at the Unadilla MX track; Josh ended
up with a much-admired 4th place overall for
the weekend. He finished 20th overall, in the
Pro class for the 2006 season, racing only three
races. At the 2006, AMA Awards Banquet held
in Las Vegas, NV Josh received the “Amateur
Rider of the Year” award.
