Australia (2005) -Yamaha Australia today
announced their plans to continue to support ATV
racing in Australia. Victorian racer, Adam Siemensma,
has signed a one-year deal to represent the tuning
fork company on the MX racetracks in state and national
events.
Siemensma has had some great results over the past
two years, runner up in the Victorian MX champs in 2005
and placing third against the very best this country
had to offer at the Yamaha ATV Grand National, also
during 2005.
Mark Beechey, Yamahas ATV race team manager and founding
member of the Quad Riders Club Victoria has been busy
building the scene both for the racers and the industry
alike.
“It’s been great, says Mark. It was just
three short years ago that we had only one class; to
introduce fourteen classes for season 2006 just shows
how much ATV racing is growing.
Yamaha have been great, we started out with Luke Beechey
on the team and as he’s off in America now it’s
very pleasing to bring Adam on board and keep the momentum
going. He’s a great young talent, a hard worker
and will step it up I’m sure. I look forward to
the coming season”.
“More and more industry folk are realising the
potential of ATV racing but Yamaha have been behind
it from day one”. We have an awesome deal with
Yamaha and all our sponsors from the past two years
are back with us again. Virtually, we’ve only
had a rider change so we can now get down to business
and get ready for the 2006 season. It’s definitely
getting tougher out there as the intensity goes up a
notch each year. We’ll be ready though and are
excited to have Adam with us, as we continue to play
our part in the participation and promotion of ATV racing
in this country”.
Victoria without doubt, leads the nation in ATV MX
racing and 2006 will introduce the all-new “Yamaha
ATV MX Super Series 8”. Eight rounds spread right
across the state, “Our series is so revered now,
we get racers from all around the country, riders do
the long miles from other states just to take part in
this premier series. Eight rounds with all competitors
having to drop one round keeps it interesting right
up till the last round”, Mark added.
