ATV Four
Play 's Brian Wolf secures the XC2 Pro-Am
ATV Championship

Wadsworth, OH (10/25/2010)
- A narrow, dramatic podium finish for Brian Wolf
at the historic Iron Man GNCC landed the HMF/ATV
Four Play rider his first XC2 pro-am championship.
The Ohio native rode into the final round of
the series on his ATV Four Play equipped Honda
TRX450R knowing he had to finish no worse than
second place to win the title. Wolf had just
a five-point lead over his closest competitor,
Yamaha-mounted Walker Fowler.Fowler led the
pack in an extremely dusty holeshot that ended
with Wolf tangled up with another rider. The
hard-luck holeshot would put him in dead last
heading into the woods. The dusty start proved
par for the course by limiting visibility throughout
the race, and to make matters worse the holeshot
tangle-up caused the chain on Wolf’s Honda
to start slipping just a few miles into the
woods.
Wolf had managed to make up a few spots during
the race, but he couldn’t ignore the slipping
chain, which forced him to make a pit. The pit
stop dropped him to fifth place with just one
lap to go. His championship hopes were fading.
Yet somehow Wolf overcame the odds and passed
three riders within the last mile of the race
to claim second place and win the XC2 championship.“It
was the most stressful race of my career,”
Wolf said.“I thought my day was over when
I was last going into the woods after the start.
I pushed hard and before I knew it I was up
in second but on lap four I had to pit because
I had some chain problems. Turns out, my countershaft
sprocket was stripped so they tightened my chain
up and I came back out in fifth. I had one lap
to go and I was in fifth so I thought my day
was over again.”
The second-place finish marked the 10th time
Wolf has put his ATV Four Play suspended Honda
on the podium this season out of 13 rounds —
two of which ended for Wolf with a DNF.
Wolf and Fowler tied with 281 points each for
the title, but Wolf won the tie breaker with
5 total overall wins on the season.Wolf’s
Honda is equipped with ATV Four Play’s
championship winning suspension components,
including: ATV Four Play, standard travel MGC
series +1" A arms and ATV Four Play +1"
anti-vibe steering stem.
“We at ATV Four Play are very proud of
Brian,” said Tom Skladzien, owner of ATV
Four Play factory racing. “I have worked
with him for the majority of his ATV career,
from racing locals and the MX nationals on his
privateer hybridYZ426 MX quad to making the
switch to his TRX450R production quad. I have
always enjoyed watching him ride.He has always
proven to be one of the best riders on the track.”
Another young ATV Four Play racer, Gabe Phillips,
finished the GNCC season in third place in the
XC2 class. Early mechanical troubles sidelined
Phillips’ ATV Four Play equipped Yamaha
at the Iron Man, but two overall wins this year
helped give him enough points to secure a third
place finish in XC2.
ATV Four play congratulates these two fine
riders for finishing in the top three and is
looking forward to supporting them in the 2011
season.
