HOTTEST LITTLE OLE SERIES
IN TEXAS |
ATVCCS - All Terrain Vehicle Cross Country
Series
2006 ATV Schedule Released
Longview, TX (1/6/06) -
It’s well known they like to do things big in
the State of Texas and ATV Cross-Country Racing has
not been overlooked. The new year will bring ATVCCS
into it’s fourth season of racing. What started
off little has grown into something big in just 3 years.
Texas has a wide variety terrain to work with. Go east
and you’ll find yourself in the Pineywoods of
East Texas where the terrain is mostly sandy. Go west
and you’ll find canyons, desert, and all kinds
of things that like to bite you. Stay in the heart of
Texas and you have some of that Texas Black Gumbo dirt
to work with. And the one great thing about ATVCCS is
that you’ll see all of these conditions and more.
David Culpepper, who has competed in dirt bike cross-country
racing for over 20 years, founded the series. His thirst
and know how has created a series that has grown by
more then 40% each year. Honda offered contingency programs
for several classes in 2005 and negotiations are currently
going on for other manufactures to join in for 2006.
The series starts on January 29, 2006
and ends on November 12. It is a 12 race series with
riders taking their best 9 of 12 for yearend awards.
This is a point’s series with 18 different classes
to choose from. There are 3 different age classes for
PeeWee riders as well as 5 different age classes for
adults and whole lot more. Shawn Hess has dominated
the Pro Class for the past two years and this class
receives cash payouts. From time to time ATVCCS has
local hotshoes from motocross that show up to race,
such as Cody Miller and Hunter Miller. The Miller brothers
have a killer track just outside of Greenville, which
hosted one of ATVCCS’s events last year and also
hosted the 6 Hours of America last February. During
daylight savings time there is also a Buddy Race on
Saturday that allows riders to team up against one another.
Since it’s so hot in Texas the racing takes a
break during the months of July and August. If you’re
down in Texas don’t forget to log on to www.atvccs.com
for more information on how you can compete in one of
these events. See the 2006 series schedule below and
you can also reach David at 903 295-0761.
