World's Fastest ATV Racers Coming to Macon, GA
Round four of the ATV Motocross Nationals visits Georgia on March 18.
Top pros and amateurs will compete.

Macon, GA – The fastest, highest-flying four-wheeled ATV racers in America will make their return to the Peach State with the ATV MX Nationals at Echeconnee Off-Road Park in Macon, GA on March 18.

The Echeconnee Off-Road Park serves as round 4 of the 14-stop ATVA-sanctioned Moose/ITP National Motocross Series – the largest ATV motocross series in the world. The fastest pro racers riding on four-wheels will compete along with amateurs of all ages in 31 different classes. Racing takes place on the custom-built Echeconnee track, which has garnered national recognition for its action packed mix of hills, jumps, whoops, and high-speed straight-aways.

Donny Banks, a native of Georgia, a former ATV racing champion, and four-time “People's Choice" ATV National Promoter of the year award winner, will host this round located just a few miles West of Macon, GA off US Hwy. 80 in the community of Lizella, the Echeconnee facility has been a favorite of ATV Motocross National racers for a number of years. Banks, an ATV racing enthusiast and owner/operator of Capitol Cycle in the Macon area, host other regional events at the Echeconnee facility throughout the year, but the ATV MX Nationals race draws by far the largest gathering of racers. In 2005 the event attracted almost 800 entries, a milestone for the Georgia venue

To kick off the weekend’s festivities, Capitol Cycle is hosting an open house catered by Zaxby’s Chicken with several top pros attending to sign autographs Friday from 5-7 p.m. Also, local radio station, B 95.1 will be broadcasting live from event and giving away door prizes and discounted ATV MX National tickets, so you won’t want to miss out on this evening of fun.

Riders will practice on Friday, March 17, and amateurs will race on Saturday and Sunday, March 18 – 19. The pro racers practice on Saturday. Pro racing begins at noon on Sunday, March 19.

Spectator passes for adults run $35 for Friday through Sunday, $30 for Saturday through Sunday, and $15 for Sunday only. Children 6 – 12 cost $25 for Friday through Sunday, $20 for Saturday through Sunday, and $10 for Sunday only. Children under six are free. Local riders are invited to race the event, as the ATV Nationals offer classes for riders of all skill and experience levels. Riders can sign up at the track. The amateur racer entry fee is $40.

To get to the track, take I-75 to Macon. Take the I-475 Macon Bypass to State Route 80 (Exit 3). Go West 3.5 miles to Knoxville Rd, turn left and the Echeconnee track is 5 miles on the left. The ITP/Moose ATVA National Motocross Championships, presented by Parts Unlimited, is the nation’s premiere ATV motocross racing series. The 14-round series is produced by members of the ATVA Promoters’ Group, LLC (“ATVAPG”) and is sanctioned by the 9,000 member ATV Association (“ATVA”), the sister organization to the 260,000 member American Motorcyclist Association (“AMA”). ATV racing has experienced phenomenal growth at the rate of 25% in the past two years alone, and continues to gain momentum and support, as ATV outsell off-road motorcycles annually 3 to 1. Each round attracts 600-1000 racers who vie for bragging rights to one of 31 national titles.
