ATVA Extreme Dirt Track
Season Opener Delayed Due to Rain
Brashear, TX - Bullet Speedway
Brashear, TX (5/6/2006) -
The Extreme Dirt Track season was set to begin
today, but the rain clouds moved in and forced
the event to be postponed till Sunday unless
the rain continues, which will force it to be
either rescheduled or cancelled.
On the bright side, over 300 riders arrived for the
opening round of the series despite the high gas prices,
which has put a major pinch on the wallet for those
traveling long distances to the races.
Prior to the rain, the pros had an oppurtunity to
head out for a 30 minute practice, which had Keith
Little heading back to the pits early when his engine
began blowing out a smoke screen, but with the rain,
Little should plenty of time to have his Honda ready
to race on Sunday. Tim Farr was also on hand to defend
his Pro National Title, and he was looking great on
his Baldwin Honda. Tim's back hasn't been able to
withstand two motos of motocross racing yet this season,
but Extreme Track Series should be less demanding
on his body, which should allow him to have a fighting
chance at defending his title.
Over the off season, both Shane Hitt and Harold Goodman
have made the switch to the Honda, and with Darin
Ogden also on a Honda, it appears that there will
be plenty of red on the Podium this year.
Hopefully the rain holds off for the racing to begin
on Sunday, and either way, ATVriders.com will bring
you an update from the track by Sunday Evening.
