ATVA Competition Membership to add new features,
require new annual liability form

Pickerington, OH (10/12/06) – Current ATVA competition members will see some new forms in their membership renewal packages beginning this month, and, in the coming months and years, they'll also see new benefits created just for racers.

The AMA, parent organization of the ATVA, has created a new Competition Membership for AMA members -- something the ATVA has already had for a while now. But in conjunction with the changes on the motorcycle side, the ATVA is making some changes in the ATVA competition membership.

New ATVA competition membership cards will be sent out beginning later this year with a magnetic stripe on the back, just like your credit card. This will allow participating race promoters to speed the signup process by allowing you to swipe your card, which will contain your membership information, rather than have you fill out forms.

Instead of signing a release at each event, ATVA competition members will now sign one legal liability release per year.

But to make this work, we need your cooperation. Every Competition Member must sign an annual liability release form that must be notarized and returned to the ATVA. ATVA Enthusiast members, who don't participate in competition events, are not affected.

The annual release forms will be included in your membership renewal package. Until you receive your renewal package, you don't have to do anything.

Until then, you can continue to race using your current membership.

In the future, the ATVA plans to add other benefits for Competition Members, including online pre-registration, advancement point tracking, and online race results.

The ATVA, sister organization of the American Motorcyclist Association, is the only national organization devoted exclusively to fighting for the rights of ATVers. More members mean more clout to fight to protect your right to ride. To join the ATVA, call (800) ATVA-JOIN, or go to www.ATVAonline.com.
