Morgantown, WV (7/5/2013) - As the 2013 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship, sanctioned by AMA resumes after a summer break, the highly anticipated National Championship chase gets back to racing action for the second half of the season. The 10-race series makes its return to the historic Steel City Raceway in Delmont, Pa. for Round 7 of racing.

Local boy Joel Hetrick of Seneca is one of the youngest professional ATVMX racers in the circuit and is known as "Kid Dynamite" not only for his youth but also for his speed on the racetrack. Corrosion Hetrick Racing's rider was sitting second in the championship points chase when he broke his collar bone and had to have surgery in May. Hetrick will return to his home state healthy and out with a vengeance to find the podium and regain valuable championship points.

Current points leader Chad Wienen took the overall at Round 6 on his Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer machine giving him much confidence heading into the second half of the season. Wienen has claimed five of the six overall wins thus far this season and looks to make it five in a row this weekend.

Baldwin Motorsports PEP Upperman Racing's Josh Upperman claimed his first podium before the break, capturing second overall for the weekend. Upperman has had some unfortunate luck so far this season, but will be looking to return to the second half of the season atop the podium.

Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer's Thomas Brown currently sits second in the championship points chase and has found consistency to be the key this season. Brown has claimed five third place finishes so far and has been pushing himself to find the top spot on the podium.

BCS Can-Am rider, Josh Creamer stated he would come out swinging in Steel City after falling short of a podium finish at Round 6. After a bad start in moto 2, Creamer was the man on the move and the only rider with a top five finish who was able to make any passes on the field. Creamer will be looking for a better start this weekend and to find the podium at the end of the day.

With some time off we are expected to see quite a bit of improvement from the rookie riders who have lined the gate all season long. PRP Dasa T&T Racing's Casey Martin sits just inside the top ten in overall championship points and several rookies sit just outside the top ten waiting for their break out race.

The pro riders will run Saturday as part of a full schedule of amateur racing, including classes for Youth, Women and Veteran riders. Amateurs will practice on Friday and race on Saturday and Sunday, while Pros race on Saturday. Tickets on Saturday are $20 for spectators ($10 for ages 6-11), and admission includes full pro-pit access and an autograph session.

To get to the track: Take PA-66 N exit toward Delmont. Continue on PA-66 North for 3 miles then turn right onto Story Rd and follow track signs. Track will be approximately half a mile. For more information, please visit www.atvmotocross.com.

Pennsylvania native John Natalie of Warriors Mark will be heading into Steel City with considerable momentum after taking the last moto win aboard his MotoSport.com Motoworks DWT machine at Round 6. Natalie is notorious for performing well in front of his hometown crowd and the two-time National Champion is expected to contest his first overall win of the 2013 season.
