De Pere, WI (6/18/2012) - During
round six of the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross Championships
this past weekend at High Point Race way in Mt.
Morris, PA, Nick DeNoble suffered a nasty crash
that has put an end to his 2012 season.
In the second moto, DeNoble was battling it out
with Mark Madl and had just made the pass on Madl
for sixth place and was only a few laps from the
finish, when he came up the face of the big uphill
triple and knew it wasn’t going to end well.
“I came up the face and hit a soft spot
or something and it slowed me way down. I knew
I wasn’t going to make it so I jumped off
and when I landed I knew I broke something in
my ankle or foot,” explained DeNoble.
As it turned out, DeNoble shattered his left
foot and broke his left ankle. The number 123
racer will be undergoing surgery later this week
to correct his injuries and begin the healing
process. Despite the setback, DeNoble remains
positive and remain active for the rest of the
season. “I plan to be at the track at Red
Bud. I won’t be racing, but I will be there
to meet fans and sign autographs,” he said.
DeNoble’s devastating crash was not the
first of the weekend for him. “I crashed
in qualifiers as well and ended up hurting my
shoulder a bit and qualifying seventh,”
DeNoble stated.
“I’ve had a pretty up and down year
so far. I was shooting for sixth in points and
now with this crash, that’s not going to
happen. It’s disappointing, but I’m
going to work on getting my program together for
next season and hopefully come back strong,”
said DeNoble.
“I really want to thank my sponsors for
sticking by me this season; SSI and Ian Harris,
Lonestar, Janssen Motorsports, Elka Blingstar,
Walsh, Motoworks, ATVRiders.com and my family,
who I couldn’t do this without, my parents,
my girlfriend and my two daughters, Kiley and
Ashlyn,” said DeNoble.
Nick DeNoble is expecting a full and speedy recovering
and he is looking forward to returning for the
2013 season. Nick will be attending most, if not
all, of the rest of this season’s races
to support his fellow racers and spend time with
his many friends and fans.
