2011 AMA ATV Motocross Championship
Weekend Schedule & Classes
AMA ATV Motocross Pro Class
will now Race Both Motos on Saturday
Morgantown, WV (1/17/2011) -
The ATVPG, administrator of the AMA ATV Motocross
Championship, have announced the Weekend Schedule
and Classes for the 2011 season. There were minimal
modifications to the class structure this year
- most of the changes for 2011 took place in the
Weekend Schedule.
Highlighted changes in the Weekend Schedule include
the Pro Racing show, which will take place on
Saturday this year - rather than the previous
Sunday layout. As the Pro Racing schedule unfolds
on Saturday, both motos of the Pro Am Unlimited
and Women's classes will also take place in rotation
with the first set of Amateur motos.
Sunday's schedule, then, will round out the second
set of Amateur motos and run the entire Pro Am
Production racing schedule, as it was the previous
year.
"By moving both of the Pro motos to Saturday,
we are enhancing our fan experience that has already
been enjoyed by fans of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro
Racing Motocross Championship," said Sam
Gammon, Director of ATVPG.
In regards to the 2011 class changes, we have
added Girls (8-15) Production class to the Youth
list. This addition was set forth to provide young
girls a platform where they can gain experience
and strive to become part of the premier Women's
class.
The 2011 AMA ATV Motocross Championship will
kick off February 26-27 at Aonia Pass MX in Washington,
Ga., with Pro class racing starting at 1 p.m.
Saturday, supported by 37 amateur classes throughout
Saturday and Sunday. For more information, please
