Josh Creamer & Dustin Wimmer's Battle to Continue Unadilla ATV MX
AMA ATV Motocross Nationals - Round 9 - Unadilla - July 17-18th, 2010

New Berlin, NY (7/15/2010) - The 2010 ITP Tires/Moose Racing AMA ATV Motocross Championship Presented by Parts Unlimited is headed to the legendary Unadilla Valley Sports Center in New Berlin, New York for Round 9 this weekend. Going into this event, Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Josh Creamer continues to lead the field, now by 25 points over his teammate and two-time Defending Champion, Dustin Wimmer. The chase for the championship has come down to the last three rounds, which will prove to be an exciting finish to a season filled with intense competition.

Going into the ninth round, the battle rages on between teammates Wimmer and Creamer for the championship, and tension continues to rise between the riders. Creamer has been consistently on the podium all season long, and if he is able to continue that momentum this weekend, he will be inching closer to sealing the 2010 title.

Wimmer is hoping that's not the case, and will be on top of his game at Unadilla in order to make up some much-needed points heading into the last two rounds. Team Can-Am Motoworks John Natalie and teammate Chad Wienen have been strong competitors all season and are hoping to continue their success in New York. Natalie is coming off an overall win at the last round, and is hoping to make a repeat this weekend in front of the Unadilla crowd to remain in third in points.

Creamer and Wimmer battle for the championship may be the buzz in the pits, but you can never count out Baldwin Motorsports/PEPs Josh Upperman as a top finisher. Upperman continues to battle his way to the front, and has moved into 4th in the chase for the championship after his top five finish last weekend. At this point in the season, it could be anyone's race.

The event takes place at the legendary Unadilla Sports Center in New Berlin, NY. The track lies in a valley and utilizes a large area for long straight-aways, sweeping turns, and large jumps. The layout is fast and challenging, with many big jumps incorporated into the layout.

Tickets on Sunday are $15 for fans ($10 for ages 5-11), and admission includes full pro pit access, and an autograph session.

Pro riders will be on hand at Herb Philipson's in New Hartford, New York for a "Meet and Greet" signing autographs and meeting with spectators and fans from 5-7 on Friday. Just a few of the riders in attendance will be current points leader Josh Creamer, two time defending champion Dustin Wimmer, and Yamaha's Thomas Brown.

The pro class will feature two 20-minute races on Sunday, taking place at noon and 3 p.m., with the combined scores of both races determining the overall winner.

The pro riders will run as part of a full schedule of amateur racing, including classes for Youth, Women and veteran riders. Amateurs will practice on Friday and race on Saturday and Sunday. Pros will practice on Saturday and race on Sunday.

To get to the track, take the NYS Thruway to exit #31 (Utica, NY), then follow signs for Route #8 SOUTH I-88 east, Exit 9 (Sidney, NY); Turn LEFT on Hwy 8 North; 30 min. to the track. For more information, head to www.atvmotocross.com
