Josh Creamer Regains ATV MX
Lead Going into Spring Creek National
AMA ATV Motocross Nationals
- Round 6 - Spring Creek - June 12-13 , 2010
Millville, MN (6/10/2010) -
The 2010 ITP/Moose Racing AMA ATV Motocross Championship
is making its first trip to Spring Creek Motocross
Track in Millville, Minnesota this weekend. Heading
into Round 6, Rockstar Makita
Suzuki's Josh Creamer has again taken the lead
from his teammate and two time Defending Champion,
Dustin Wimmer.
The Suzuki duo may have dominated so far, but
Team Yamaha newcomer Thomas Brown and Baldwin
Motorsports PEP's Josh Upperman are hoping Spring
Creek will give them the chance to stay in the
chase for the championship.
The heated battle between Rockstar Makita Suzuki
teammates Josh Creamer and
Dustin Wimmer has been unmatched so far this season
with the teammates constantly swapping the points
leads between them. While Team Suzuki
continues to battle each other, Team Motoworks
Can-Am is still battling bad luck.
Chad Wienen suffered a broken steering component
during Round 5, as well as several crashes throughout
the season. His teammate John Natalie was passed
in the last few feet before the finish line during
Round 5, and has had to battle back from crashes
and bad starts all season. Both riders are hoping
to change their luck this weekend in Minnesota,
and start battling for the win.
Spring Creek Motocross Track has been racing
for 47 years, and will be hosting the ATV Motocross
Championship for the first time ever this coming
weekend. Racers and spectators alike are excited
to enjoy the facility which includes a "Kid
Zone" featuring a basketball court, volleyball,
badminton, 4-square, a skate park, a Rainbow Play
Set, a BMX course, and a sand beach off of the
beautiful Spring Creek. Racers will be parking
in the level campgrounds, and have access to air-conditioned
flushing restrooms, and water fill-up stations.
Spectators can also escape the heat in the air-conditioned
concession area, including TV's with live lap
times throughout the day.
The Spring Creek Pro track is roughly 1 mile
long and made up mostly of loamy dirt, all except
for the famous sand whoops. The track consists
of mainly table tops, and several triples. The
facility features an easily accessible Pro paddock
and vendor's area.
Tickets on Sunday are $15 for fans ($10 for ages
5-11), and admission includes full pro pit access,
and an autograph session. The pro class will feature
two 20-minute races on Sunday, taking place at
noon and 3 p.m., with the combined scores of both
races determining the overall winner.
The pro riders will run as part of a full schedule
of amateur racing, including classes for Youth,
Women and veteran riders. Amateurs will practice
on Friday and race on Saturday and Sunday. Pros
will practice on Saturday and race on Sunday.
To get to Spring Creek, take Highway 60 East
to County Road 11; Turn right
on County Road 11; The track is on the Right.
