Event July 15 & 16 Canceled Due to Flood Damage

Dunmore, PA (07/12/2006) - To all Atlantic Grand Prix participants the race scheduled for this weekend July 15 and 16 at North American Warhorse in Dunmore PA is Canceled due to water damage from the storms at the end of June that dropped more than between 12” and 15" of rainfall on parts of Northeastern Pennsylvania and New York state. The North American Warhorse race for August 5th and 6th is still On!

The conditions of the trails up on the mountain behind North American Warhorse are currently a mess. Both stream crossings are impassable requiring bridges. The trails are all washed out and will require a lot of work.

Now while most club or association promoters might have gone ahead and run the race, we at Atlantic Grand Prix pride ourselves on putting on only the best races on the best courses anywhere in the Northeastern United States.

For that reason we’ve decided to cancel this event and make the weekend of July 15 and 16 a WORK WEEKEND so that we can put in all new course as well as construction of few new bridges. If you’re interest in helping, we’ll be parked in the area where we run the races right behind North American Warhorse both Saturday and Sunday.

If you’re interested in helping out come up and bring your friends. Tools such as loppers, bow saws or Chain saws would be a big help. Don’t forget to bring your quad or your bike. If you have construction skills, bridge building is going to be required. AGP Staff will be supplying food and drinks.
