Warren, PA (9/9/2006) - Just when you
thought the bulk of the racing action was over,
its once again time for the highly anticipated Matt
Bartosek Celebration Race! The Fourth Annual Matt
Bartosek Celebration Race will be held Sunday, September
24th, 2006 at the beautiful Maple Shade MX in Sugar
Grove, Pennsylvania. This year will again feature
an Expert Quad Class with a purse totaling over
$6,600 and plenty of amateur contingency prizes.
Along with the great racing action, the weekend
promises to be packed full of exciting events, prizes,
and raffles, with all proceeds benefiting '88 Live
to Ride, Inc.' and The Mobile Medical Unit.
Debi Bartosek has put a huge effort into The Matt Bartosek
Celebration Race each and every year to ensure it's
a success. This year has been no exception. "I'm
extremely excited about what this years race has in
store. We've had some wonderful sponsors step up to
support the race once again, and I know that everyone
will be pleased with the professional environment Maple
Shade has to offer."
The weekend will commence on Saturday, September 23rd
with Open Practice from 1:00pm - 6:00pm for both Bikes
and Quads. On Sunday, September 24th, amateur practice
will begin at 9:30am, with racing following at 10:30am.
The Expert Quad Class will race their first moto at
1:00pm and their second moto at 3:00pm. If qualifying
heats are needed, they will be run Sunday morning following
practice.
Previous events have hosted nationally recognized John
Natalie, Pat Brown, Jason Dunkelberger, Matt White,
Jason Luburgh, Mark Kendall, Josh Upperman and many
more!
The Matt Bartosek Celebration is held each year to
remember up-and-coming Pro Rider Matt Bartosek. Matt
(19) died in January of 2003 while competing at the
inaugural ATV Winter Olympics. Matt and his family have
been a part of the GNC race circuit since 1994. He had
two overall championships in the 90cc Mod class (1998
& 1999), was part of the second place Pro team in
the first ever ATV 12 Hours of America and had just
completed his first year in the Pro class finishing
5 points out of a top ten finish. Matt received the
title of "Most Feared Youth Rider of the Year"
by ATV Sport in 1999 and was also awarded the Randy
Howard Memorial Award for Sportsmanship in 2000.
