Josh Row Top Five at WORCS Racing Round 5
WORCS Racing Pro ATV Racer Josh Row

Ridgecrest, CA (5/14/2014) - Josh Row claimed a top five finish at round number five of the 2014 WORCS series and at the midway point of the season, is holding down a respectable second in the pro championship points.

The Desert Empire Fairgrounds in Ridgecrest, CA played host to round five. This was the first time the series was held at this facility and came with plenty of variations in the course; with asphalt pavement, high speed desert terrain, enduro-cross and concrete. The course was fast and definitely challenging.

Weather conditions were good but a bit on the breezy side with winds reaching 30 MPH. The track was good for race day, but became quite choppy early in the race. That didn’t stop Josh Row from putting in a solid performance.

Josh Row charged his way into fifth place by the second lap

Row came off the start a little slower than he wanted, but was charging forward. “My Sparks motor was working great out there. It had tons of power, even in the sand,” said Row.

By the second lap, Row had moved into fifth place and was looking good. “It was a really fast track, so it was difficult to chase anyone down. In my pro-am year, I struggled with the enduro-cross sections, but now they are one of my stronger areas and that’s where I was able to make a couple of passes,” Row stated.

The track did deteriorate over the course of the race, but Row was able to keep a steady and fast pace. “It was dry out there, but my Maxxis tires hooked up great, and my Tireballs kept me from getting any flats. It got pretty rough, but my Elka suspension worked awesome and kept me from getting too tired,” stated Row.

Josh Row held on to the number five spot until the finish. Row still currently sits second in the WORCS Racing Pro Points heading into round 6

Row held down the number five spot for the rest of the race and rounded out the top five at the checkered flag. This was the first time this season that Row has finished off of the podium, but he plans to make up for it. “I’m looking forward to our break we have coming up so I can train and get faster. I’d really like to get another win before the end of the season,” said Row.

The 2014 WORCS series will resume with round six on July 11-13 when it heads to Pala, CA where Josh Row is hoping to top the Pro podium.
