Taft, CA (1/23/2014) - 417 Motorsports’ Josh Row got off to an impressive start to the 2014 WORCS racing season by securing the second spot on the podium at round one. The opening round of the WORCS season was held at Honolulu Hills in Taft, California.

While the weather was picture perfect for racing, the dry and dusty conditions made for a brutal race despite the best efforts of the WORCS crew to keep the track watered, but Josh Row was up to the challenge with his new 417 Motorsports Honda 450R.

When the gate dropped, Row’s Sparks Racing powered Honda came out of turn one in the second spot, but by the second turn, Row was able to take over lead when the leader lost his seat. Once out front, Row was able to pull over a thirteen second lead over second place by the end of lap one.

Row would hold down the lead for eight laps, but in the ninth lap, he was passed by the defending champion, which dropped Row back to second. Row remained unchallenged for the final two laps and held on to claim the second spot on the podium.

While most new teams take several races to perfect their machine, it seems as though the 417 Motorsports team had their bugs worked out ahead of time. With only a few rides on his new Honda 450R, Row felt right at home on his new ride for 2014 as he battled for the win. Not only does he have a great working machine, but his physical training is on point as he endured over an hour and forty-five minutes of rugged racing.

"I still feel good after racing an hour and forty-five minutes so I'm excited for the rest of the season," Row said about his endurance. He continued, "I was having the time of my life out there."

He credits much of this season opener success to his amazing sponsors as well as his family. After thanking his Mom and Dad on the podium, he went on about how well his Honda worked.

"My Maxxis / Tireballs combo were great, it was really impressive the beating those tires can take and not have a single issue. The Elka shocks were amazing, they handled the square edged sections great," the number 417 rider commented about the handling of his machine. In regards to the power, Row said, "the Curtis Sparks engine is a rocket ship, it's unbelievable how fast it was."

After a great start to the 2014 WORCS racing season, Row is ready for another run at the podium on February 7-9th at Buffalo Bill’s Casino in Primm, Neveda for round two.
