Cypress, CA (6/9/2010) - It’s
that time of year again when ATV manufacturers
start introducing their new line ups for the
next year, and for 2011, Yamaha has added a
new machine to their entry level Raptor product
line. Joining the popular Raptor 250 and Raptor
90 for the 2011 season is the all new Yamaha
Raptor 125 youth sport ATV.
Based on Yamaha’s Raptor 250 design,
the Raptor 125 fills a void in the youth and
entry level sport quad genre that had been previously
been left to the Taiwan and Chinese manufacturers,
and while the price of those machines were at
considerable value, consumers were left somewhat
unsatisfied by the quality and performance of
those substandard brands.
With the introduction of the Raptor 125, Yamaha’s
target market are those that are new to the
world of ATV’s and also youth riders,
who are looking to step up from 90cc models.
Yamaha has also taken into consideration the
state of the economy and that consumers are
looking for value as well as quality, and Yamaha
has offered the perfect balance of both in the
Raptor 125.

Raptor 125 is based on the Raptor 250
& the pair share the same frame
along with most components, but the
Raptor 125 has some new fender styling
& low profile Maxxis front &
rear tires

One of the first things you notice about the
Raptor 125 is the aggressive look of the machine
that definitely fits right in with the Raptor
family. This new ATV is powered by a new 124cc
engine that features a two valve, single overhead
cam and is electric start. It has a 5-speed
manual transmission and has a broad power band.
The 29mm Mikuni BSR Carburetor offers a light
throttle effect to reduce thumb fatigue on those
long trail rides.

The chassis of the Raptor 125 is based on the
Raptor 250, but is more compact with the handle
bars moved down and back, which is perfect for
smaller and youth riders. The Raptor 125 also
handles well and features 190mm of front wheel
travel and the same a-arms and suspension components
as the Raptor 250 with 5-way pre-load adjustable
shocks. The Raptor 125 has plenty of stopping
power as it includes dual hydraulic front brakes.
The Raptor 125 comes standard equipped with
Maxxis 19”x 6”-10” tires in
the front and low profile Maxxis 18”x
9”-8” tires in the rear, which improves
cornering and provides excellent traction.

of aftermarket goodies for the Raptor 125, including,

bars, bumpers, grab bars and heel guards. Many
of those parts come in your choice of standard
brushed aluminum or black.
For those that are either new to ATV’s
and are looking for a quality, affordable quad,
or those who are ready to step up from a smaller
model, the 2011 Yamaha Raptor 125 is the perfect

the high quality that you would expect from
Yamaha.
