Tri-mode Dynamic Power Steering
(DPS)
Calibrated specifically for
aggressive trail riding and racing,
the 1000 X xc Tri-mode DPS system features
three modes (MIN, MED and MAX) lets
riders select the desired amount of
steering assist for the terrain and
conditions. DPS offers variable steering
assistance no matter what mode is selected.
The system is designed to offer less
assist at high speed and more assist
at low speed. This technology also includes
a Direct Link setup that uses advanced
magnetic field sensors for faster response
to steering input than competitive technology,
which then minimizes steering lag. Less
kickback and more trail feedback is
supplied to the operator because of
the 50:1 final gear ratio, which is
the largest in the industry. A high-capacity
50-amp motor means the DPS will never
fade with heavy use and all DPS-equipped
models also come with the Visco-Lok
QE
Fox Racing Shox Podium X Suspension
package
Up front, the Renegade 1000
X xc features FOX Racing Shox Podium
X piggyback shocks with high- and low-speed
compression adjustability, rebound and
preload adjustment. Front travel is
9 inches (22.8 cm). The rear also features
FOX Podium X piggyback shocks and high-
and low-speed compression adjustment,
rebound and preload adjustability. Rear
suspension travel is 9.3 inches (22.6
cm).
Visco-Lok QE front differential
All DPS-equipped models come
with the Visco-Lok QE calibration giving
an even quicker engagement of the front
differential. It progressively transfers
power from a slipping front wheel to
the gripping one – automatically
with no buttons to push or levers to
pull. Plus, there’s no wheel hop
or driveline wind-up so the system is
totally transparent to the driver and
extremely easy to steer. Can lock up
to 100 percent with no rev or speed
limiter. This differential, unlike some
competitor’s differentials, does
not have a speed or rev limiter.
12-Inch aluminum beadlock wheels
The new cast-aluminum wheels
include beadlocks on the X xc. This
Can-Am-exclusive design clamps the tire
bead securely to the Renegade 1000 X
xc wheel for added performance under
heavy acceleration and cornering. GNCC
racing feedback helped produced this
exact setup.
X-Package Seat Cover
Specific to the Renegade 1000 X xc
is a seat cover that enhances the
experience of aggressive riding.
X xc-specific Renegade graphics
BRP outfits the Can-Am Renegade
1000 X xc with a wild, black-and-yellow
graphics package that looks like it
belongs on the racetrack. Add in the
premium, embroidered gripper seat
cover and it truly looks ready to
race. .
More-powerful magneto
The X xc package provides
a more-powerful magneto with 650 watts
of power output.
