2007 Arctic Cat 400 Class Utility ATV

2007 Arctic Cat 400 Class Utility ATV

400 Class Overview

Different riders have different needs, which is why Arctic Cat makes a variety of their popular 400 class 4x4’s. Riders who demand the only true fully independent rear suspension (FIS) can opt for a 400 4x4 with either the Duramatic automatic transmission with engine braking, or with a five-speed, auto-clutch manual transmission with Hi-Lo range.

Every 2007 FIS model is equipped with slimline SpeedRacks featuring a contoured shape and accessory attachment mounts that lower the height of the rack. The FIS models also receive a full-lock front differential (with a convenient handlebar-mounted lever), floating brake calipers, a redesigned hydraulic foot brake system with remote fluid reservoir and a heavy-duty rear axle.

A new digital instrument pod on the FIS machines has 14 digital indicators such as speed, odometer, dual trip meters, hour meter, clock, and fuel level that is enhanced with bodywork that gives the 400-class the Cat Family look.

All of the Arctic Cat 400 class machines are powered by a torquey 376cc, air/oil-cooled four-stroke engine featuring a temperature-controlled fan and an Auto Electronic Choke system for simple “one touch” starting. All 400s have a fully independent, double A-arm front suspension that eats up gnarly terrain and, like the rear suspension, features preload-adjustable shocks.

Other premium features include a 2-inch “automotive style” receiver hitch, handlebar-mounted electronic 2WD/4WD switch for quick shifts, new 25-in. Goodyear Rawhide RS tires and large 4.75- or 6.5-gallon fuel tanks. And there is the best-in-class ground clearance (12 inches on FIS machines), rack capacity (100 lbs. front/200 lbs. rear) and suspension travel (10 inches on FIS machines).

Adding convenience to the 400 class machines are features like Start-In-Gear, zero-maintenance suspension bushings and sealed drive shafts, a full-length plastic skid plate that glides over rough terrain and the single-lever, hand-operated hydraulic disc brakes (front and rear).

400 Class New Features
  • All LE models have machined aluminum wheels, one-piece front brush guard and rear accessory bumper and a 2500lb. Warn Winch. 400 LE is available in Red.
  • The newly developed Goodyear Rawhide RS is standard on all Arctic Cat ATVs (25x8-12 front, 25x10-12 rear) for improved traction, durability and ride handling.
  • A redesigned handlebar with improved bend for increased ergonomic comfort in all riding situations.
  • Easily removable engine covers protect riders legs from engine heat dissipation while diffusing sound, creating a clean appearance to the engine compartment.

(LE model also has Analog Speedometer readout)
  • 4.0 Gears in the front and rear gearcases help to increase low end torque
  • Redesigned fenders increase water and mud protection as well as good looks, a high-density durable plastic skid plate doesn’t rip or rust, “Stick Stoppers” protect CV boots and the 400s are outfitted with Zero-maintenance suspension bushings, sealed drive shafts (front and rear), and constant-velocity (CV) joints
  • Removal of the panel allows easy access to the switched accessory plug, which is conveniently located under the panel
  • 6.5 gallon tank extends your riding pleasure, while relocated to the rear of the machine for a lower center of gravity
  • Improved seat latch for easy installation and removal to gain access to the integrated, organized tool tray underneath the seat

400 Class Engine Info

  • 376cc 4-stroke, single cylinder, air/oil cooled engine
  • 34mm Keihin carburetor with electronic automatic choke
  • Air/Oil-cooling system with high-capacity oil cooler and thermostatically-controlled cooling fan provides consistent engine operating temperatures
  • Duramatic Automatic Transmission, with long-life maintenance free belt or choice of Manual 5-speed with Hi-Lo range

400 Class Chassis/Suspension Info

  • Arctic Cat ATVs have an optional sway bar available as an accessory purchase through your authorized dealer. Similar to any off-road 4x4 vehicle, eliminating the sway bar, lets the 10” of front or rear Fully Independent Suspension articulate through the full range of suspension travel. This increased articulation provides full tire contact in all types of off-camber terrain. The addition of the sway bar will impact the traction capabilities; however, it will enhance flatter cornering in aggressive trail riding
  • 12” of ground clearance enhances the ability to navigate through mud or over large rocks, logs, and other objects encountered in rough terrain
  • Industry leading weight capacity and overall cargo carrying surface area allows 100 lb carrying capacity on the front rack and 200 lbs. on the rear
  • Full-lock front differential transfers engine torque to both front wheels when selected for added traction with a flip of the switch. 4x4/2x4 switch is located on right-side handlebar for quick, convenient shifting in-and-out of four-wheel drive
  • Allows very quick installation and removal of a wide variety of Arctic Cat exclusive accessories without the need for tools, bloody knuckles or swearing
SpeedRack and its accessories add value to the machine and also enhance the efficiency of your hunting, fishing, farming or utility chores
  • This feature allows the consumer to remove the hitch from their 2” automotive receiver and install it into the ATV’s receiver hitch
  • Low maintenance, positive stopping power in either dry or wet conditions
  • Set the spring preload (5 rear positions, 5 front positions) on the shocks to tailor the ride to individual riding styles, terrains and loads
