Camp Chef’s Matt Anderson and Lane Johnson also gave us their new solar lantern with an integrated usb charging station, which is a great combination product. Not only does is provide very usable lighting after dark, it also can charge your cellphone or any usb portable electronic, which is a great feature.
After an overview of the Yamaha Special Edition features, we were ready to hit the sand dunes, and we spent the first day focusing on the YFZ450R SE, and one of my favorite features about the Yamaha YFZ450R is all the adjustments options it offers. For example, there are three different handle bar mount locations on the steering stem and two different foot peg mount positions, which allows taller or shorter riders the ability to make adjustments for a more comfortable ride position.

We had more than a few chances to throw a leg over YFZ450R SE, and the YFZ features a high revving engine that is right at home in the sand and is a blast to ride with its responsive power. With its low center of gravity, it is very responsive to rider input, which makes it easy to maneuver in turns and over jumps.

Also, the dual piston caliper brakes provide excellent stopping power to bring the Yamaha YFZ450R ATV to an immediate stop when needed, and even with all the big sand down hills we never experienced any brake fade.
One feature that can be easily overlooked, but really comes in handy out in the dunes is the parking brake on the Yamaha YFZ450R. The lever is conveniently located on the handlebars, and the best thing about parking brake is that it continues to work after many uses and is very easily engaged and disengaged.
