Sand Hollow State Park OHV Area SxS / UTV Adventure Ride Part 1
We Explore Sand Hollow State Park Driving a Yamaha Rhino & Kawasaki Teryx SxS

St. George, UT - I recently had the chance to the escape the Midwest winter chill by heading west to Utah’s Sand Hollow State Park in St. George, UT, which is just a short 2-hour drive from Las Vegas, NV.  With the help of Fasst Co and DAT Racing’s Dax Snow, we had lined up a Kawasaki Teryx 750 RUV and Yamaha Rhino 700 SxS  for a couple days of off-road driving.

It all started with catching a flight to Las Vegas from Indianapolis. Once in Las Vegas, I would meet up with ATVriders.com’s Harlen Foley. After a quick bite at In-N-Out, a west coast must-have, we hit the road. Even though I flew in a little late, I could still make out beautiful mountains in the darkness and I knew as soon as the sun came up the view would be breath taking.

After a mysterious drive through many canyons and valleys we made it to the Snow family’s residence in St. George, UT. The Snow family has deep roots in the WORCS racing series and was very welcoming as they made us feel right at home! Dax Snow arranged a Yamaha Rhino 700 and a Kawasaki Teryx 750 SxS for us to drive at Sand Hollow State Park the next day.

Morning came and we woke just before the sun came up. We headed a short distance down the road to Snow Canyon State Park to take photos of the sunrise.  As we patiently waited the sunbeams crested just over the mountainside and slowly lit up the canyon.  I was in awe as I could finally see the canyon and the valley. This was my first time to Utah and I did not expect anything like I saw before my eyes! This would be just a glimpse of what was to come at Sand Hollow.

A big thanks goes to Fasst Co. co-owner Chris Tidwell for setting up our Sand Hollow Adventure Ride in Hurricane, Utah. Also thanks to Dax Snow for lending us a Yamaha Rhino 700 SxS / UTV & a Kawasaki Teryx 750 SxS / UTV that we picked up from Fasst Co.'s facility that is located just outside Sand Hollow State Park

We met up with the co-owner of Fasst Co, Chris Tidwell, at their shop in St. George, UT to get suited up for our ride. From the Fasst Co. Shop, Sand Hollow State Park is just a short drive down the road.

Sand Hollow State Park OHV Area offers over 16,000 acres of diverse terrain that is open to ATV & SxS / UTV riding

At the end of Washington Dam road that runs through the outskirts of St. George it turns into a gravel road. From there it is one mile to a staging area for those who have a yearly permit. We saw several people unloading their machines there, including a WORCS SxS racer that was doing some testing on a highly modified Yamaha Rhino UTV before the race in Primm, NV that weekend.
