Huntsville, Tennessee – Nestled
in the hills of Northern Tennessee, the Brimstone
Recreation Resort put together quite a weekend for
the avid outdoorsman. My attention was captured
as I approached the event I couldn’t help
notice the side by side hanging in the sky from
a boom truck marking the entrance. I pulled in late
Thursday night and was behind quite a line of thrill
seekers signing in at the main tent.
All your event needs were found right under the
sign in tent from accommodations, to trail maps,
shirts, hats, and even the new Kenedyne tie down
systems and Yamaha Generators. GBC Tires even
had a display set up and a trailer ready to install
tires on all your off road vehicles for the weekend.
It took just a short drive from the main road
back to the off-road area but we were warned to
make sure you take your time on this road as it
can get narrow in a few spots and it is a two
way road. Once we got close we crossed a single
lane bridge then head back to the main fields
for camping, riding, racing, eating, and just
good old fashioned fun. Back in the heart of the
event area we found there were many different
levels of camping.

Not
only did this year's Yamaha Brimstone ATV
& SxS Roundup bring in plenty of riders,
but there was also plenty of great food
to indulge in! |
There was primitive camping, RV spots without
power, RV spots with power all the way up to some
really nice cabins that could be rented for a
night or the week. There was a gentleman setting
up in one of the campgrounds with one of the more
impressive Bar-B-Q grills on a trailer I have
seen in a while. He confided in me that he is
using his Mama’s family recipe from ages
ago. He had a menu that alone was worth the trip,
but lets not forget, we had racing and riding
and concerts to go to.

Hundreds
to ATV & UTV Families gathered at Brimstone
Recreation Area this year to enjoy both
endless riding & entertainment |
At the base of the mountain before heading up
to the race event area Yamaha and Can-AM were
set up with their off-road demo rigs. Yamaha had
a number of Rhinos and Grizzly’s just waiting
for people to come and take a trail ride on and
see what they are missing if they had a different
vehicle. Can-AM was set up right next door with
their fleet of Commander side by sides and Outlander
ATV’s. All you had to do was stop in sign
some forms, load up, and take a guided trail ride
with the factory representative that headed out
on the trail. The demo ride allowed new comers
to see just how nice the new vehicles can lead
you around, climb over rocks, and roll through
the streams, and hopefully fall in love with one
before returning them to their rightful owners.
