2012 Transit of Venus Began at 6:03PM Eastern Time 6/5/2012
Last Chance to see the Transit of Venus in a Lifetime

Baltimore, MD (6/5/2012) - This news is not ATV or SxS related, but A very special solar event is occuring right now in the United States and around the World, the Transit of Venus. Our sister planet, Venus, is moving in between the Earth and the Sun, which appears as a small dot in front of the sun when viewed with the proper equipment, but do not rush outside and look straight at the sun because it can cause eye damage, but there are plenty of sites with info on how to view this special event.

If you miss viewing the transit of Venus tonight, it won't happen again till 2117, so more than likely you will never see it happen again in your lifetime.

Here is an image we captured at the beginning of the transit of Venus, and if you look closely, you will see the black dot near the top of the sun, which is Venus.
