There
are many aftermarket lighting systems
available for your ATV & UTV to greatly
improve your riding experience after dark |
Baltimore, MD (1/26/2011) - If
you ride trails at night or have the need to put
your ATV or SxS to work when the sun goes down,
aftermarket lighting can bring the right amount
of light to the party depending on your needs.
From simple replacement bulbs for the factory
headlights to full on custom lighting set ups
for desert and endurance racing, there is something
available for everyone in the marketplace.
If you are looking for just more light for
operating your ATV or SxS, your budget won’t
be worked over too hard as pricing can start
as low as $45 for your basic add on lights.
Lights in this price range are bare bones no
frills and offer little beyond added light output
as well as limited mounting options. They do
work however, just make sure you take a close
look at the mounting hardware supplied and where
you intend to mount them. With the trend increasing
towards custom bumpers right from the showroom
floor, usually this isn't an issue however with
older models, mounting can be problematic if
you are wanting to just bolt on and ride.
Thankfully, mounts are available from aftermarket
suppliers that can utilize round tube either
from a bumper or the frame itself for mounting
options, again, pay close attention to the size
of tube the mount can accommodate so you aren't
left with a nice pair of lights and mounts that
wont fit your application.

Aftermarket
light kits come in many different sizes,
shapes, & mounts for your ATV
|
The popular HID and LED lighting can exceed
$100 but are highly sought after especially
by the sport ATV crowd as their small size when
offered in a spotlight model can easily be hidden
as to not distract from the overall appearance
of the ATV. Companies such as Trail tech offer
handlebar mounting to further increase mounting
options as well as kits that should get you
where you need to be. WARN continues to be a
highly recommended light and their kits continue
to receive high praise from those who use them.
