Root River Racing Pro ATV MX Race Report

La Crosse, WI (5/23/2018) - Root River Racing’s Pro rider Dylan Tremellen finished 11th overall during the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship race at High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, PA. Tremellen, from Sherman’s Dell, PA, was riding at his “home track” in front of family and friends.

Tremellen had two great starts in the motos, and continues to excel in the holeshot. In moto one, he came out fifth, but a stator problem at the end of the race took him out of contention. In the second moto, he was third off the gate and finished ninth.

“The weather was really nice and it turned into a nice event,” said Tremellen. This race was a big mental game for me and I had a solid and safe weekend.”

Tremellen is inching toward scoring his first holeshot this season. His Hoosier tires have been a big part of his excellent starts. His Motowoz shocks worked perfectly on the hard-packed racing surface gave Tremellen smooth landings off the jumps.

“In the first moto I ran a wheelie the entire length of the holeshot,” said Tremellen. “The Hoosiers just hooked, I kept it pinned, and I went. That was pretty cool. I had good traction on the hard packed corners. The Motowoz shocks worked great on the jumps. We didn’t have to touch one thing on them all weekend.”

The track was changed from previous seasons. Track officials did a great job, according to Tremellen. “I liked the new layout of the track,” said Tremellen. “It would have been nice if we had a couple more option lines, but it flowed a lot better.”

Next up is Muddy Creek Raceway. The track is one of Tremellen’s favorites and he’s looking forward to bringing his recent momentum to bear at that race.

“I love that track and I always have,” said Tremellen. “We’re getting closer and closer to a holeshot, so hopefully we’ll get one there. We’re shooting for the top eight.”

Tremellen and the rest of the Root River team will be back in action at the next ATV Motocross race June 2-3 at Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, TN.
