Logan Stanfield Wins Pro Sport
Nine6Nine Underground MX ATV
Motocross Race Report
McKenzie, TN (4/23/2018) – Nine6Nine
Motorsports’ Logan Stanfield won the Pro Sport
AMA ATV Motocross National Championship race at
Underground MX in Kemp, TX. Cole Wuellenweber
finished second overall in Open C. Teammate Alan
Myers was injured in a crash during the Pro Sport
race, while Zack Decker is still healing from
a rib and back injury.
Stanfield came out second at the start of the
first Pro Sport moto, fell back several positions,
but rebounded to finish third. In the second moto,
he started third and finished second to secure
his first victory in the class this season. Stanfield
sat out the 450A race with a mechanical issue
on his quad.
“I was pushing as hard as I could and got the
overall,” said Stanfield. “The bike was hooking
up great. It was great in the rollers. My Elka
suspension was soaking up the bumps, and my Maxxis
tires were great in the rough conditions.”
Wuellenweber padded his points lead in the Open
C class, going 1-2 for a second place overall
in the class. He finished 11th in College Sportsman
16-24.
“It was really rough and everyone else seemed
to get tired, so I just kept going,” said Wuellenweber.
“I made some good passes. The College class is
a harder class for me. I’m working hard on it
and I know I can improve. The Maxxis Tires and
Elka Suspension were great. The track was so rough
and they just smoothed it out.”
Myers was injured when he cased a triple in the
Pro Sport race. Team Manager Travis Moore initially
thought it was a rotator cuff injury, but it turned
out to be a bone bruise. Myers is expected to
be back by the next race, while probably not at
100%. Decker’s rib injuries are healing well and
he is expected to be back mid-May.
“Alan is starting physical therapy and we’re
shooting to have him at Indiana to try to salvage
some points,” said Moore. “Zack’s ribs are healing
wonderfully. It’s looking very likely he may be
back in mid-May. He’s feeling exceptionally well.”
Wuellenweber and Stanfield are already working
hard to ensure they carry the 969 team through
this difficult patch of luck: “It really stinks
that Alan and Zack are out, but it means Logan
and I will have to push harder to carry the team
through,” said Wuellenweber. “The team is still
going strong.”
Nine6Nine Motorsports will be back in when the
AMA ATV Motocross National Championship heads
to Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, IN May 5-6.
