Deforest, WI (6/20/2018) – Kyler
Lenz Motorsports/Amped Apparel Honda Nick Moser
got back to winning form in the 25+ class, and
Korie Richmond finished second in the Production
B class during the AMA ATV Motocross National
Championship race at Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut,
IL. The pair is competing this season to honor
the memory of Kyler Lenz.
Moser swept both motos in the 25+ class, taking
both holeshots, and holding off strong pressure
from Cody Janssen. Moser now has an impressive
32-point lead in the title chase. The dominant
win, his fifth this season, came on the four-year
anniversary of a crash that nearly ended Moser’s
racing career and was made even more special by
happening on Father’s Day weekend.
“It was awesome the to get it done this weekend,”
said Moser. “There was a lot of pressure during
the weekend, both from Cody and from it being
Father’s Day and the anniversary of my crash.
I rode smart and locked up what became a huge
win. This is the best I’ve ridden in a very long
time. This has to be one of the top seasons I’ve
ever had.”
Moser relied on the traction supplied by his
Maxxis tires to again get both holeshots. As the
track got rougher, his PEP Suspension was there
to soak up the whooped out sandy racing surface.
“The Maxxis tires handed me both holeshots again,”
said Moser. “They just hook up everywhere. I only
had to make minimum adjustments to my PEP Suspension,
which says a lot because the track got very rough."
Richmond finished second in Production B after
going 1-2 in the motos. It marked his third consecutive
runner-up finish in the class. Unfortunately,
while leading the Open B class on the first lap
of the first moto, Richmond hit a kicker and crashed.
While he was unhurt, it ended his weekend in the
class.
“I had a pretty big gap in the first Production
B moto and I had to work through back pain from
the crash to finish second in the second moto,”
said Richmond. “The quad was working great. Mark
Baldwin serviced the shocks and they were on point.
We’ll keep moving forward and keep pushing. The
season has been great so far and we’re looking
forward to finishing strong.”
Kyler Lenz Motorsports heads next to Unadilla
MX in New Berlin, NY for the next race, scheduled
for July 7-8.
