Kyler Lenz Motorsports / Amped Apparel ATV MX Race Report

Deforest, WI (5/14/2018) – Kyler Lenz Motorsports/Amped Apparel rider Nick Moser again swept both motos in the 25+ class and scored the overall victory during the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship Race, this time at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, IN. Sam Rowe finished 14th in the Pro class and Korie Richmond was fifth overall in Open B.

Moser was dominant during the weekend. In the first moto, he took the holeshot and led every lap. He was looking to repeat that feat in the second moto, but he cased a triple and had to dig hard to stay up front. His fourth consecutive win allowed him to extend his lead in the championship to 34 points.

“Four races and four wins, so we’re looking good for the championship this year,” said Moser “I’ve won every holeshot except one so the Maxxis Tires are really working for me. Hetrick Racing with Mark Baldwin have been doing my engines and they have been unbelievable.”

Moser is a veteran ATV Motocross racer and he’s been there and done that when it comes to the ebb and flow of the racing business and the burnout that can come with that. This year, he’s focused on having fun and it’s paying off.

“I couldn’t think of a time when I had this much fun racing,” said Moser. “It’s been so long I’ve been able to experience the fun side of this. It couldn’t be going any better. Kevin and Nicole are really great people and I’m grateful to be a part of this team.”

Sam Rowe was off to a great start when he snagged the holeshot in the first Pro moto. Unfortunately, a mechanical problem took him out of contention while he was running fourth.

“I really think that I could have put in a top-five ride in the first moto,” said Rowe. “Unfortunately, I’ve just had nothing but bad luck this year. We’ll just keep working and get ready for High Point.”

Kevin Lenz started the team to honor his son Kyler. Ironman was the site of the younger Lenz’s first National.

“This was a pretty emotional weekend for us,” said Kevin Lenz. “This is where we started racing with him on the national circuit. It turned into a great weekend.”

Kyler Lenz Motorsports heads next to High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, PA for the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship race May 19-20.
