CST’s Baron & Anderson Make
Strong Start to Season
Atascadero, CA (2/19/2018) - CST’s
Beau Baron and Mitch Anderson kicked off the 2018
WORCS racing season with strong runs in the SXS,
ATV and Motorcycle classes during the season opener
at The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Baron finished
second in the Pro ATV race and scored a fifth-place
finish in SXS Pro Stock. Anderson finished second
in the Pro 2 Motorcycle event.
The races were held on a sprawling, but tight
course set up in the arena and the parking lots
surrounding the venue. The track featured asphalt
and dirt sections, as well as tire jumps, logs
and motocross-style doubles and triples.
In the Pro ATV race, Baron finished second after
a thrilling battle with Robbie Mitchell. Despite
having several opportunities to crash Mitchell
for the victory, Baron showed exemplary sportsmanship
and took home the runner-up trophy.
“I wanted to pass him clean,” said Baron. “I
had him passed in two different places and he
cut over on me and I don’t want to kill the guy.
The CST Tires were awesome. They didn’t wear down
and they worked great. Sparks built such a bitchin’
motor. My quad rips. Hats off to Elka Suspension
and Roll Design.”
In SXS Pro Stock, Baron found some redemption
from difficulties in the Pro Production race to
score a fifth-place finish. Baron, who is likely
the hardest working man in off-road racing, thrashed
to get ready to the event and his preparation
showed.
“I had some serious issues in the Pro class,
but the Stock class was good,” said Baron. “We
were on the fourth row and worked my way into
the top five and stayed there. To come out without
breaking a car, I’m pretty happy. I’ve been working
until midnight for the last couple of weeks to
get everything ready. It’s gnarly for a one-man
racing crew.”
Anderson rode his CST Honda to start the Pro
2 Motorcycle season with a second-place finish.
Tires proved to be more important than ever on
the distinctive racing surface and CST delivered.
“I had a decent start, made a few quick passes
on the first lap, but unfortunately someone came
over on me in the matrix and got stuck,” said
Anderson. “Second is a good way to start the season.
The CST Tires were great today. It was a tricky
course, in and out of the arena, rocks, logs and
pavement. The tires worked great all day.”
Anderson and Baron understand just how important
CST Tires is to their program. The pair—whether
in Big6 or WORCS—are putting a huge effort into
delivering results.
“CST has done so much for us,” said Baron. “We’re
just trying to return the favor with results.”
Baron and Anderson will be ready for action as
the WORCS Series next heads to Canyon MX in Peoria,
AZ February 23-25.
