Moreno Valley, CA (6/2/2018) –
BDR Motorsports / Polaris’ Larry Heidler overcame
a driveline issue to finish eighth in the
SXS Pro race during the WORCS racing weekend
at Iron Mine Race Park in Cedar City, UT.
Heidler was driving a Polaris RZR XP1000 Turbo
in the event.
The track featured some of the biggest jumps
on the tour thus far in the facility’s motocross
track. The track also feature a large off-road
area and an endurocross section. Heidler got
a second-place start on his row and was running
toward the front when the driveline issue
slowed his charge.
“I got into a groove early and I was running
pretty well,” said Heidler. “Then my car had
an issue with going into false neutral, so
I nursed it to the finish.”
The combination of Fox shocks, GBC Tires,
Tire Blocks, Raceline wheels, as well as Super
ATV axles, Heidler said he had the perfect
package for the rough course.
“The Fox shocks worked really well; they
soaked up a lot of hard hits,” said Heidler.
“The GBC Tires got me off to a second-place
start and they worked well everywhere. Tire
Blocks kept me from getting any flats and
the Raceline wheels held up. All the prep
from BDR kept it together from start to finish.”
Heidler made sure to point out the durability
of his Super ATV axles. While many other competitors
have had axle issues all season, Heidler hasn’t
had one broken axle.
“You’d be crazy not to run Super ATV axles,”
said Heidler. “I’ve used the same set since
January, and they’re still going strong. For
people that have problems with breaking axles,
they need to switch to Super ATV.”
Holz Racing Products built the cage for his
Polaris. With the high level of competition
this year, the cage has done its job well.
“Holz came on this year and built my cage,”
said Heidler. “I’ve had some pretty bad tumbles
and that cage held up great. We beat these
things up out here so it’s important to have
the best parts.”
Sponsors are important, but for Heidler family
takes the front seat. This year he’s glad
to have his wife and his daughter accompany
him to the races. In fact, his daughter Kaitlyn
finished fourth in the SXS Women’s race.
“I couldn’t do it without my wife and kid
out here,” said Heidler. “Now my daughter
is out here racing and we have a lot of friends
out here. It’s so much better having my wife
here with me.”
WORCS now heads into its annual summer break
before getting back on track September 14-16
at Glen Helen Raceway in Devore, CA. The Heidlers
will be there, ready to roll.
