Hunter Miller Finishes Second in GNCC Pro Championship
Hunter Miller's Ironman GNCC Pro UTV Race Report

Greenville, TX (10/30/2017) – Can-Am/Maxxis/Elka’s Hunter Miller did everything he could to nab his first GNCC Championship and finished a close second in points after the season finale at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, IN. Miller is already looking forward to next year, when he will drive Can-Am’s Maverick X3 Turbo in the XC1 Pro UTV Class.

Miller started third in the race and spent the first four laps battling with his brother Cody and fellow Can-Am driver Kyle Chaney. Hunter Miller was fighting for the lead with Cody when the two made contact. The tangle caused front-end problems for Hunter Miller, who stayed in third before getting stuck on the final lap.

Can-Am's Hunter Miller got off to a mid-pack start, but quickly found himself in a three way battle for the lead

“I did everything I could have possibly done and even broke trying to make a move on Cody,” said Hunter Miller. “It hit my front tire and broke an axle leaving me with two-wheel drive. It was tough to get around in two-wheel drive, but we were still running third. On the last lap, I got cross rutted, and we were buried for 20 minutes or so.”

The title chase definitely came down to the final race and both Miller brothers showed their competitive spirit. Hunter Miller said he couldn’t think of anyone else he’d rather finish second to.

ELKA's Hunter Miller battled for the lead & championship with his brother, Cody, with the pair colliding at one point, which took out Hunter's 4 wheel drive

“I got second, but at least I got second to someone who works just as hard as I do,” said Hunter Miller. “In the end, we were both right there. Coming into the last race it could have been either one of us, and we were both going for it.”

With the change in the GNCC Pro XC1 rule to allow turbos, Hunter Miller will run Can-Am’s Maverick X3 next season. The turbocharged car was designed from the ground up as a racing UTV and Miller is really optimistic about 2018.

“I can’t wait to switch to the Can-Am Maverick X3 turbo next season,” said Miller. “We’ve been a little underpowered, so it will turn things over for next year. Those first four laps when Kyle and Cody and I were battling was the most fun I’ve had all season. It definitely motivates me for next year.”

The track featured wooded trails, open fields and a motocross track. The combination was no match for Hunter Miller’s Maxxis Tires and Elka Suspension.

“The Maxxis Tires and Elka Suspension were amazing,” said Hunter Miller. “It was really deep and slick at the bottom. If you didn’t have tires that performed, you weren’t going to get along. This track was rough. It was soft with a lot of braking bumps and the motocross track was tricky. So the Elka Suspension combined with Double E’s tuning soaked it up pretty well, and handled the jumps perfectly.”

Miller will return to GNCC competition next year in the Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo with his eye on the Pro XC1 UTV Championship.
