Poynter took the lead at the start and he
put on a show during the event. After showing
an aerial display across the start/finish
jump, Poynter immediately began gapping the
field and then toned it down on the final
lap to earn the victory in just his second
start. He finished third in his debut in the
class last race.
“It was a win or wad today,” said Poynter.
“We’re not in the points so we were just out
here having fun. I’m glad Polaris got the
idea to come out with these Aces because they
are so much fun. On the first lap we jumped
60 or 70 feet at 10 feet in the air in a bone
stock Ace. I pulled a pretty big lead and
got the win.”

Poynter was running his second race for Pirate
MX. The team, which received tuning assistance
from Bikeman Performance, entered a second
machine in the last two races to help further
develop their ACE. Poynter finished third
in his class debut at the Powerline Park GNCC.
“Pirate MX’s John Baughman bought an Ace
earlier this year ,and I got him hooked up
with Bikeman Performance,” said Poynter. “They
did a tune for him, and he brought me out
to help progress his team. He got second,
so it was a good day for Pirate MX with a
1-2.”

Though the rules allow very few modifications
to the stock ACE, what they allowed Pirate
MX did. Crash Addict Industries built the
car and Poynter ran DWT Wheels with GBC Tires
and Tire Balls.
“The DWT Wheels narrowed it up for us with
their new Sector Zero wheels,” said Poynter.
“We had the GBC Dirt Commanders on with Tire
Balls. The Crash Addict Cage, Innovative Safety
Products Seat and Mastercraft Harnesses kept
me safe. We had the Bikeman Tune, which really
helped this thing rip. I had so much fun today.”
For Poynter, it was the perfect end to a
long year of racing, and now he will switch
his focus to attention on Crash Addict Industries.
