La Crosse, WI (5/19/2016) - Root
River Racing competed in round four of the 2016
AMA ATV Motocross National Championship at Ironman
MX in Crawfordsville, IN.
It was a rainy weekend that caused many of the
team member’s second motos to be cancelled, but
out of the eight riders who competed they accumulated
six podium finishes and two overall wins.
Two of those podium finishes came from none other
than Noah Mickelson who has been having a spectacular
season. Mickelson won the first moto of Open B
and was granted the overall win after the second
moto was cancelled due to the rain. Mickelson
is currently leading the class points for the
national championship.
In 450 B, Mickelson went 1-2 for second overall.
Mickelson also leads the points in this very competitive
class.
Another Root River racer who took an overall
win was JoHannah Vossman in the Schoolgirl class.
This was Vossman’s first win of the season and
she also took a sixth in WMX.
“It was a great weekend in Indiana to say the
least. I won Schoolgirl moto one, leading all
four laps. We pulled the holeshot moto two and
lead the whole race until lap four when I made
a little mistake and spun around a couple times.
I still managed to get going again for a 1-2 for
a first overall for the weekend, and taking the
points lead in the class. I can't thank everyone
who backs me enough,” stated Vossman.
Dylan Tremellen had an impressive second place
finish in ProSport. “In both motos, I worked my
way from about sixth place to inches from first
place, taking second both motos for second overall,”
explained Tremellen.
Tremellen’s Root River Racing Honda was working
flawlessly all weekend, helping him to perform
as well as he did. “This weekend was a step in
the right direction. We made a few bike adjustments
and could not be happier with the way the bike
performed. I can't thank my dad, girlfriend, little
brother, my entire team and everyone else supporting
me to give us the best machines possible to put
them out front!”
Logan Tremellen raced in the C classes. 450 C
was Tremellen’s best class of the weekend after
he captured a second place finish in the first
moto for second overall when the last moto was
cancelled. He is currently leading the points.
In Production C, Tremellen went 2-7 for sixth
overall.
Youth rider Brandon O’Neill captured two podium
finishes for the team. In Supermini, O’Neill went
3-3 for third overall and is currently third in
the championship points. O’Neill also put in a
strong ride in Schoolboy Sr. to take third, and
went 5-6 for fourth overall in the blistering
fast Youth All Star class.
Tommy Vossman finished an impressive fourth overall
in 450 B. Vossman took fifth in the first moto
and fourth in moto two. Vossman also competed
in Production B where he went 6-11 for ninth overall.
Tyler Mack rode his Root River Racing Honda to
a top five finish in Production A. Mack took fourth
in moto one and with the cancelled second moto
he retained fourth place overall. Mack also raced
in 450 A, taking third in moto one and seventh
in moto two for sixth overall.
Haedyn Mickelson raced in the fastest amateur
classes, Pro Am and Pro Sport. Mickelson took
an impressive top five finish in Pro Am, going
6-12 for ninth overall. In Pro Sport Mickelson
took thirteenth with 12-7 moto finishes.
Root River Racing will return to the AMA ATV
Motocross National Championship at round five.
Racing will be held at High Point Raceway in Mount
Morris, PA May 21-22.
