Pro Motorsports’ Matt Hancock Sixth at WORCS Opener
Matt Hancock Finishes Sixth in WORCS Pro ATV Debut

Tempe, AZ (1/13/2015) - Pro Motorsports’ Matt Hancock finished sixth in his WORCS Pro Series ATV debut at Honolulu Hills Raceway. Hancock, who stepped up from Pro-Am this year, was pumped his first pro outing.  Hancock also finished sixth in the Pro SxS class.

Hancock had a great start, but had trouble in the first corner, relegating him to eighth at the start. He rebounded, though, and made it to sixth on the rough and hilly track.

“My Maxxis Tires and Sparks Motor got me a great jump,” said Hancock. “I came into that first corner and I blew it. I should have had a top-three start, but I dropped to eighth. I think I was just a little nervous. The track is super choppy and rough and the Elka Shocks really did a good job today.”

Hancock is pleased with his pro debut and is ready for the rest of the season.

“A lot of guys were moving up, so I felt it was time for me to make the move,” said Hancock. “I’m not sure I’m quite ready to run with the top guys, but you have to start somewhere. I’m pretty excited about that and I’m looking forward to the next round. I haven’t had the seat time I would have liked in the off-season, so it’s nice to be able to have some momentum going forward.

Hancock returned to WORCS Pro SXS competition this year, and he made the switch back to the Polaris RZR for 2016, and he finished sixth in his first race back in the RZR.

“We decided to switch back to a Polaris this year and we built a brand new XP1000,” said Hancock. “I got off to a great start, and the Maxxis Tires, Sparks Motor and Walker Evans Shocks were perfect, but I got pushed out in the first corner. I put my head down while other people had problems. I came out of the race with no mechanical failures and finished sixth.”

“I’m happy to have this first race under my belt because the first time I drove the RZR was just a few days ago,” added Hancock. “I really had to change my way of driving the new car. I have a lot of learning to do, and I’m looking forward to a lot more seat time before the next race. I know I can run up front.”

Hancock will bring this momentum to Primm, NV for Round 2 of the WORCS Championship at Buffalo Bills January 29-31.
