Can-Am’s Cody Miller Podiums at Big Buck GNCC
Miller Brothers Racing GNCC Round 4 Report

Greenville, TX (4/22/2016) – In a search for the nation’s top competition, Cody and Hunter Miller have taken on the GNCC Series this season with an eye on greatness. In the most recent round at Big Buck in Union, SC, Cody Miller continued his dominance in the Pro SXS ranks with a second-place finish. Hunter Miller was sidelined with brake problems in the SXS XC2 race.

Fresh off a win at GNCC Round 1 Cody Miller earned yet another podium finish at the Big Buck GNCC in Union, South Carolina

In Pro SXS, Cody Miller proved his victory in Round 1 wasn’t a fluke.   Here in round 2 Miller drove from a last place start to finish second overall on the tough Big Buck circuit. With the podium, Miller pads his lead in the points championship.

“I was a straightaway down into the first corner at the start, so I had to work for it today,” said Miller. “My Can-Am Maverick was flying out there. The track was fast with large field sections, and fast fire roads, similar to what I’ve been racing for the past few years at the TORN series in Texas.”

Miller also competed in the ATV 4X4 pro race and led every lap before a wheel sheared off his Can-Am. “At mile marker 10, I lost a rear wheel; it sheared the studs right off,” said Miller. “This time around, my ELKA shocks were really dialed in and I made some changes to my DWT wheels and Maxxis tires that greatly improved traction.  I had the field section dialed in and felt that was where I was making up a lot of time.   I rode a relaxed and comfortable pace.”

The Millers are happy to be back on the national scene. The brothers had been a staple in national ATV motocross competition for over 10 years, before electing to run more races near their Greenville, TX home.

“My brother and I stepped back from national competition a couple of years ago and ran more locally based series,” said Cody Miller. “We’ve been dominate for too long now, so we decided to look for some bigger competition. Woods racing is where we started, so we decided to race in the nation’s top woods series.  So far our success in the GNCC has been more than we or our sponsors could have expected in our first year, but we certainly have worked for it. Our Can-Am’s are running strong. We hope to come out with a championship or two.

“We knew the competition was here,” added Miller. “So we put our heads down thru the off season and partnered up with Houser Racing to design a new race driven light weight cage, bumpers, and tree bars.  By the time we rolled the new mavericks out of the Miller Brothers Racing shop, we knew we had a winning machine.  So far it’s been performing at the top of the field.”

“I love GNCC racing,” said Hunter Miller. “It’s definitely the most fun I’ve ever had. There’s a lot of competition here and that’s what we’ve been looking for. You get a lot of satisfaction when you do well.”

Hunter Miller had difficulties in the XC2 SXS race, but looks to break through into the top three soon. He finished 16th after suffering brake problems late in the race.

“I’ve just had a bad string of luck lately,” said Hunter Miller. “I started on the ninth row and I started to pick people off. There were so many stumps out of the main line that it was hard to find different paths. So I was just picking my way through and my brakes started to fade. The next lap, the pedal just went all the way to the floor. We pulled over to the side of the track for safety’s sake. We waited until the final lap and just nursed it to the finish.

The Miller brothers will be back in action as GNCC heads to Moree's Sportsman's Preserve in Society Hill, SC April 30-May 1.

Miller Racing would like to thank their 2016 sponsors:
