CST’s Beau Baron Continues Streak at Sand Hollow WORCS

Baron Wins Fifth Straight Pro ATV Race at WORCS Round 6

Hurricane, UT (4/20/2016) - CST Tire’s Beau Baron rode to his fifth consecutive WORCS Pro ATV victory at Sand Hollow State Park, which is the most wins to start a season since Josh Frederick’s four in 2007. In Pro SXS, Baron’s sixth-place finish moved him to just five points out of the championship lead. Baron also finished fourth in the SXS Pro Unlimited race.

The races were held in the picturesque sand dunes, but high winds in the area made for treacherous racing with square edges, bad visibility and hidden rocks throughout the course.

In the ATV Pro race, Baron started sixth and quickly moved through the field to record the victory. “CST Tires with Tire Blocks were unbeatable today,” said Baron. “There were a lot of rock sections out there and I don’t have a flat, so that says it all. The Sparks Motor pulled all the way through. There is such a load on these motors and we ran almost two hours out there. It’s insane that anything will last that long. My hat is off to Elka and Roll Design. Doug’s been doing my shock valving and we have it right where we want it now. It made my day a lot easier to be able to hit stuff and not fly off my bike.”

In Pro Side by Side, Baron was running second when he had front differential problems on his Polaris. He nursed the car home to a sixth-place finish.

Despite loosing front wheel drive, Beau Baron finished sixth in the Pro SxS Class, which has second in the points championship

“I took off about ninth and made a bunch of passes early,” said Baron. “I got up to second on the third lap, but I lost front wheel drive. I just went backwards from there. It was difficult to drive in the sand with two-wheel drive. My hat is off to everyone who beat me. We salvaged a sixth-place finish.”

Baron will be back in action at Mesquite, NV, as he looks to continue his dominance in the Pro ATV Class.

In Pro Unlimited SXS, Baron ran the entire race in rear wheel drive, lost power steering after the first lap and had clutch issues. He still managed to finish fourth.

“It was a tough day,” said Baron. “My front drive was out at the start and there was nothing I could do about it. I made it through the second corner, another competitor hit my front wheel and I lost power steering. Finally the clutch had problems. I had to start it in neutral, floor the gas and slam it into gear to make it move. From there, I just tried to stay off the brakes and ended up fourth. With all the problems, I have to say that the CST Tires were off the hook. I broke part of my rim and the tire is still on the bead. It was a good day today just to make it through the race.”
